La verdad es que es una camara excelente para comenzar con las experiencias, esto va mas alla de lo que tengan los celulares, ademas la marca tiene un software que permite sincronizar tu celular con la camara y permite madarle fotos automaticamete al celular.

Camera overheats and shuts itself off within minutes of being turned on at 1080p, despite ordering through amazon prime with a supposed 30 day guarantee, I’m being told to pay return shipping and send it to a third party seller instead of a normal amazon return… Wow, I feel double scammed.

My biggest issue with this product, it is unusable unless you are using HDMI out into a capture card to record at 1080p and 60fps.
overheating, overheating, overheating
Plugging it in USB and using the beta app to use as a webcam will cause the device to overheat and shut down after about 15-20 minutes.
Recording straight from the camera in ANY resolution or frame rate will cause the device to overheat within 15-30 minutes.
Just having it on and idle with HDMI out on will cause it to overheat and shutdown after about 30 minutes.
What is the point of this camera if you have to have a chiller hooked up to it to even work? That wasn’t even getting me an extra minute of use. Checked the website and apparently the only solution is to use it for 9 minutes, shut it down for 3-9 minutes, then rinse and repeat…
If you are using this for more then a webcam, I would suggest almost ANY other camera.. Just grab a GoPro for the high FPS recording and some better lighting, you’re way better off.

Thank you for writing to us. My name is Eric and I understand you’re having issues with EOS Webcam Utility and I can assist.
The EOS M200 was designed as a entry level stills camera with limited video features. This camera may overheat if the sensor is exposed for long periods of time such as being used as a webcam. There are noplans at this time to add any firmware updates to the EOS M200 however it is always possible that updates may be sent out in the future.
Please let us know if we can be of any further assistance.
Thank you for choosing Canon.
Sincerely,
Eric

I use this as a very high-end webcam in conjunction with an Elgato Camlink, and it works flawlessly throughout the day.
Things to consider before buying this (though they apply to pretty much all cameras in this price range).
1. For livestreaming or video conferencing, get a dummy battery that plugs into the wall: if you try to use the camera’s standard battery it will overheat after a few minutes.
2. 4K video has a very close crop. For most uses, that won’t be a problem: most video conferencing platforms don’t support 4K. (Also, please remember that at this price range, most cameras crop heavily for 4K)
3. If you do need 4K, you can either invest in a shorter focal length lens (expensive), or do what I did: add a 0.45 wide-angle lens to counter the crop. I was worried about vignetting or distortion at the edge of the field of view, but that’s where the massive crop is actually your friend: the sensor is only picking up the centre of the shot, so anything that’s happening on the edges of the frame are out of shot 🙂 The downside is AF performance is considerably worse with that setup.
4. My shooting backdrop is dark (matte black paint, soft practical lights), so I need bright key and fill lights to counter that. Without it, the image is too grainy (even though the ISO range is pretty good). I use two Sokani X60s with softbox domes and honeycomb grids mounted just above head level (they’re both set to low power, so I could probably have bought cheaper less powerful lights!). That said, the low light performance is pretty good (as with all the Canons – I had an SL2 before this).
5. The max aperture on the kit lens is f/3.5. With my setup, that’s enough to give a bit of softness and bokeh in the background, but if you want your backdrop really out of focus, you’ll probably need to upgrade the lens. (Again, that’s pretty much standard with all cameras these days: fast lenses are expensive, so they’re an upgrade).

After hearing about canon colors and af for years, I decided to finally dip my toes in. Man was that water, ice cold. As someone who has shot on everything from cinema cameras to smartphones this canon camera was really difficult to use. Both to hold and also to work though the menu. Which could be overlooked if I got those sweet canon colors; but they never came. The image is soft and noisy even at base iso, af is poor, colors are muted, I get better results on my 3 year old smartphone. Put the camera in auto mode and 90% of the shots will be over exposed. My $300 Panasonic fz300 from 4 years ago has better focus, color and detail. This was such a disappointing purchase, definitely staying far away from canon.
