I’ve had this a year. It stays outside. I’ve used it about 20 times and have cast iron soap and oil. I noticed when cleaning with a scraping tool, made for cast iron, a thin top black layer was coming off. I didn’t know if this was cooked food being scraped off or if the material this grill is coated with was actually getting into our food. It looks like the top layer of metal is coming off. Considering the country of manufacture I’ve chosen not to risk my family’s health and stop using it. Scary.

Very good size vs weight as it is cast iron I always like to keep in mind how much weight I want to add to my geer if I’m loading up for outdoors. Plus I like the versatility with this one as it has the two sides and it fits the average oven so it can be used just as much indoors as outdoors.

This griddle is a must have for my full size BBQ. I bought 2, put them side by side for larger cooking area. No cracks, no warping, they fit perfectly.

This griddle is HEAVY, full on cast iron. I love the grease catching reservoir on the one side. The first thing I fried was a full package of extra thick Costco bacon. I used to hate the mess cooking Bacon inside the house on the stove and the smoke would also stink up the house. Cooking with this griddle outside on the BBQ made the best bacon I have every cooked. It came out perfect. The reservoir was filled up, but it did not overflow. Some reviews mentioned their griddle cracked and warped. This is not my experience, they are flat, and even though I made them extra hot, no cracks. My guess its the luck of the draw. When making a cast iron item of this weight, size and shape, you will probably end up with a 3-5% failure rate.

All I can say is these griddles have exceeded my expectations. If one were to fail, I would buy it again.

About half the smooth side surface is nice and smooth, the other area however is textured and food sticks to it. The smooth area is a cinch to clean, not so where the uneven areas are. It heats evenly but I still don’t recommend

This thing is worth it. It’s relatively cheap an allows you to use your camp stove as more than a simple stove. I have read about people having this crack upon use and that hasn’t happened to me yet. This is likely because I use the griddle in combination with the heat diffuser plate (which is essentially a round piece of 1/16″ steel with some holes in it that sits over the stove flame and acts as a radiating surface). It works great and heats well in this configuration.

One thing to consider when using a camp chef stove: while they work well, even a mild breeze will create uneven heating on this griddle. This is not the fault of the griddle, but rather the design of the stove itself. I’ve used this in both calm and windy conditions in fairly cool weather and while it heats fairly evenly during calm-wind conditions, a bit of a breeze will cause it to heat pretty unevenly. Just keep that in mind when cooking and setting up.

This is the best thing I’ve done with the BBQ in a long time. If you need to replace your grill due to it being all rusty, just get one of these instead. This thing is really heavy and you have to take care of it properly. If you do, it will last a LONG time. I use it every time I barbecue these days. Works great for everything I have tried on it so far. I haven’t had a BBQ fire since I started using it too! I haven’t used it on the stove yet because we have an induction cooktop.

Bought it over the winter and just used it for the first time only to find a large crack down the middle.

I am going to go ahead and keep this and try it out on the 1st or 2nd of Sept. I am concerned
if this is a defective grill with the uneven patch in the middle or just the way cast iron is. You can see the blemish on both sides.
If anyone could let me know would be greatly appreciated. There is no manufacturer contact email listed unless
    I am missing that.

    Update:
It was defective. Received a replacement that had no defects. Sending back first unit. Happy now. Will update on how it performs in early September

Nice quality, fits pretty well on my old Coleman stove. Very heavy, but use it instead of a small bbq for cooking when car camping. Less to pack, saved some space.

The main problem with these griddles is it cheap poorly made cast iron from China. You have to be REAL careful. They are easy to crack if you don’t warm them up slow. Which is the mistake I bet everyone that cracked them made, including myself, when I used it the first time. So, for anyone reading this… warm them up very slowly before cranking up the heat. The first one I bought cracked right away. The company sent me another one, and told me to keep the cracked one. I did, and so far its fine. I still use the cracked one for putting my coffee pot on to keep it warm. Gave it two stars because of the cheap cast iron being used.

Was very excited to try this on my CC stove. Used it for the first time this weekend, and within a few minutes of it being on low-med heat, it made a big noise and a crack appeared, at the bottom. Good thing I tried it out. Will be returning this.

It’s ok but I’m not overly impressed. Everything sticks to it and it’s hard to clean . It’s heavy and awkward to wash .,I have to be very careful not to damage my sink . I have buyers remorse and feel the price and don’t feel it was worth the amount I paid. My camp chef stove is nice . But all of the accessories for it are overpriced .

Used on my new stove this morning for weekend breakfast. Bacon cooked perfectly and this wiped up, washed easily. I dried thoroughly with a towel, then sprayed with canola cooking oil, rubbed it in to keep it seasoned. The griddle takes up the full half of one side of the stove, so about a 1/4 of the surface is not over the burner, but it’s a positive not a negative. Since food is rarely uniform in size, you can move cooked pieces over to stay warm while finishing up the rest. Very happy with this purchase.
