Not much to say, needed a straight through gender-changer for a ham radio that has a male port on it so I could use a cable with a male connector. I did have to unscrew one side of the screw s so that I could connect it to the radio, but they unscrewed easily using pliers.

Only negative about the product was that I had to perform IT surgery on it to get the screws off so that it would connect to the back of the computer.

It deserves am extra star because of its sleek design with the lack of a cable, but that does not compensate for the lack of function. I tried connecting to an HP ProCurve via an RS232 USB cable on my companie’s laptop. It did not work; though the flat, cyan blue Cisco console cable worked in its stead. This might be useful for other applications that I am not aware of, but it did not work for my purpose.

Yes, it is hard to believe that anyone would need one of these in this day and time. Still, I have an amateur radio that requires a COM port connection. I had a Serial cable, but the genders would not match. Thus, the need for this little adapter. It works great.

Decent little adapter – worked great for my wife @ her work – she needed to be able to program Wireless access points – but – she only has a laptop which has USB ports – thus – the adapter I purchased came with a male ended cable – the Wireless access port is male … uhm … plug this adapter into either the cable – or – Wireless access port & booom access … “I love it when a plan comes together” …
