I needed a lighter and more flexible hose for my electric sanders than the short inflexible hose that came with my cheap shop vac. The tool end of the hose is terminated with a freely rotating flexible rubber type nozzle which grips much better than rigid plastic and aids the hose staying attached to the sander when in use.
The vac end of the hose is hard plastic with a slight taper to the nozzle i had no problems with it staying put.
The long 5 metre hose means I can work with less restriction and can also distance myself more from the noisy shop vac, which even wearing ear muffs is irritating.
Bosch don’t list the dimensions of the business end of the hose. I measured it to be outside diameter 35mm or just over 1″ 3/8 and the internal 25mm or about 1″ and being a pliable rubber like material will squeeze or stretch a little so it doesn’t have to be an exact size.
This hose also fits my Bosch GCM12SD 12″ Glide saw but IMHO a shop vac working though a 5 metre long hose doesn’t move enough air for this task.
I think it’s good value for money at the discounted price.

The unit does its job of removing dust and material. I use it primarily with my Festool sander. Removing dust is extremely important to completing your final project. The downside is the length of the hose. A much shorter hose would be better for me.

Fits my Festool gear perfectly at a fraction of the cost. Now that I know about these, I will never buy another Festool hose again. Been using it for about 1 year and it is still in perfect shape. Highly recommended.

Have been using this hose for a year and a half. Still in great shape.
    Some things I particularly like:
    * Good flexibility.
    * Tight friction fit on a DIY Dust Deputy.
    * Tight friction fit on a Ridgid WD4070 4-gallon shop vac.
    * Connects easily to my Festool sanders (ROTEX 125 and ETS 125).
    * Hose is a little longer than the good long cords on Festool sanders. Nice for avoiding tangles.

Disclaimer? Not needed. I bought this hose. I was not compensated in any way. I’m posting this review because I’m pleased with the product. I hope you find this review helpful.

Works really well. I like the connectors. Hose is flexible enough without being too soft. Good length. Should last a long time. Would recommend.

Good quality hose, worth the money. Unfortunately it can’t make up for the terrible dust collection design on my Bosch mitre saw.

What I like about this hose is it’s light weight and good quality swiveling hose ends. What I don’t like is that the hose has a bunch of slight curves in it that look like they are permanently set. If you were to lay it out in a line on the ground, it wouldn’t be straight but more snakelike. If you take a Festool or Mr Nozzle hose and lay it out it will be straight. Mind you this is only a cosmetic issue, but still, it’s a bit annoying on a hose at this price.

In comparing this hose to a Mr Nozzle 1.5″ hose, it’s obvious the Mr Nozzle hose is heavier built, more rugged, and much more crush resistant than the Bosch. Same with Festool. That being said, I prefer using the Bosch hose connected to power tools over the Mr Nozzle hose. The main reason is that the hose is a lot lighter and easier to handle making it less cumbersome in use. It’s also longer, at about 16ft. compared to the 12ft of the Mr Nozzle hose, and the extra length is handy to have at times.

The fitting at the vacuum end of the Bosch hose will slip right into any standard Shop Vac 2.25″ opening. The fitting at the tool end of the hose has an inner diameter of 25mm (1″) and an outer diameter of 35mm. The inside of the 25mm end has a series of ribs that interlock on some of the tools with 27mm ribbed connectors, making for a good solid connection.

It’s a bit of a rat’s nest out there between the North American Imperial and European Metric vacuum hoses and fittings. Bosch understands this and sells a few adapters to make their hoses compatible with North American fittings. If you have tools with other than 27mm or 1″ ports, you’ll need buy fittings that will adapt your tool to the Bosch hose. For example I have a couple of Dewalt sanders that can take 3 different hose sizes – 1″, 1.5″, and 2″. The Bosch hose will require some sort of adapter to work with the Dewalts. The Bosch hose will slip into the 1″ port but because of the thickness of the Bosch hose end it won’t slip far enough into the Dewalt to stay in place.

So there you have it. It’s a good hose but be forewarned you may need to buy an adapter or two to fit various tools, especially older ones.

Bought one for the new Festool sander. It fits perfectly at the tool end and it fits all the Rigid shop vacuums I tried it on at Home Depot, except for their smallest which had, I believe, the smaller 1.75 inch outlet. It is not anti-static and not as firm as the Festool hose, so there is no comparison for quality, but it is a fine hose for sanding.

I bought this as an extension to my Festool shop vac hose. Amazingly it fits the vacuum exactly the same as my original Festool hose, though I had to make my own adapter to attach it to my existing hose. I might suggest that they include or sell an extension adapter, or make an even longer hose, maybe 8 or 10 meters.

Just came today, but it’s exactly what I was looking for to replace my Stilh vacuum hose. It’s also a little less expensive than the Stilh one, and longer too. Seems to be of better quality as well, and fits all my vacuums accessories.

This is definitely money well spent! I’m in the process of refinishing an antique china cabinet and chifferobe and will be doing a fair amount of sanding inside my home. I needed a longer and more flexible hose to connect my sander to my shop vac; the hose that came with the shop vac was not working out. It was cumbersome to work around and either kinked or came off the sander outlet every time I moved to a different section. I definitely wasn’t making much progress on my projects given the amount of time required to reconnect the hose to the sander and untangle the kinks. A day or so of that was more than enough to convince me that I needed a different setup so I started checking Amazon and found the Bosch VOC005 vacuum hose. The reviews of this hose were consistently high and the price was right plus my sander was a Bosch ROS20VSC and would be compatible with this hose. It arrived VERY quickly and was double boxed for protection . In fact, when I first saw how big the box was I actually wondered if I’d been sent the wrong item. Nope. Upon opening the very large outer box I found a second large box securely sealed and centered with air pillows inside. ( Both boxes were in perfect condition and will come in handy this christmas if my son doesn’t nab them for his upcoming move!) The hose inside was perfect as well. It straightened out in all it’s kinkless glory as soon as I pulled it out of box number 2. Hooking it to the vacuum was a cinche. Connecting the swivel end to the sander took a little longer but wasn’t difficult. It looked too small but once I approached it from an angle and worked it on by rocking it side to side over the edges of the outlet it was a perfect fit. This thing will NOT be coming off accidentally. The length is wonderful. It’s long enough to keep the shop vac out of my workspace. I sanded the inside of the china cabinet without once having to stop and reposition or reattach anything. Haven’t even had to unkink a kink! I sanded well over an hour & a half and made up some of my lost time. To say I’m pleased is an understatement. I will probably retire the original hose and keep this one on the shop vac. It is not anti-static so keep that in mind if you are needing one for serious woodworking. For my purposes as a DIYer doing small projects this one is exactly what I need. I’m very glad I got this, it’s worth it!
