Our first electric kettle was glass and attractive (Hamilton Beach I think) but the lid would not stay open on it’s own when filling it with water, and it did not open a full 90 degrees, so you had to hold it with one hand and hold the lid open with the other and tilt it akwardly to try and fill it, usually spilling water all over in the process. We decided to try this one because a review mentioned that the lid would open 90 degrees and stay open on it’s own and it does indeed. This one is much more user friendly, super easy to fill. I highly recommend this one!!

Hard to find a white coffee maker with all the settings and 12cup volume needed, so I’m very happy to have found this one! The textured top is lovely too, gives a more luxury appearance to it.
Only Con:
The light is not an ideal blue colour, hard on the eyes. Would’ve preferred clock colour in green.

I like this kettle but I didn’t double check if it had a stainless steel core. It does not so the kettle is plastic on the inside.

This Black and Decker electric kettle is awesome! I wish I would have bought it years ago! Water for tea is hot in only a few minutes. Much better than using a microwave.
This kettle looks great on my counter, it is easy to clean and simple to use! The display makes it easy to see the level of water you have in the kettle. It has an auto shutoff when the water is ready and if the water level is too low so I don’t have to worry about accidentally leaving it on!😊
I highly recommend this product if you are looking for a great electric kettle! I will never go back to using a microwave or a stovetop kettle! Thank you Black and Decker for a great product at a fair price!

Boiling water in plastic is a no go for me. I thought it had a stainless steel interior but it doesn’t. Buying a different one today. 🙁

Do not waste your money on this. I bought it to boil water for my baby’s bottles to mix formula- I opened the lid to clean out the inside & the water had white chunks floating in the water.. that appear to be coming from the plastic of the kettle- which I’ve been feeding to my new infant. How disgusting!!
I gave it a good clean inside, tried it again and got the same result. Complete garbage

I will be honest and say that this was not at all the kettle I was looking for. I wanted to get a kettle that was transparent and had temperature control. However in my search and testing many different kinds of these kettles I wound up returning every single one. Apparently there are two common issues plaguing those kind of kettle designs. All in all I tested out 5 other kettles before picking this one so let my experience save you some time. I won’t mention the brands but they are well known. All 5 of these kettles shared the same issues. The first big issue is that apparently it’s a design flaw that transparent kettles can and do leak from where the handle attaches right above the heating base. All 5 of my glass kettles shared this flaw. Of the ones that had the temperature control feature both of them proved to not be at all accurate at determining the temperature. This was hugely disappointing and eye opening.
Eventually I stopped punishing myself and just decided to look at kettles because it seemed more important to be able to heat up water to proper boiling and not create a wet electrical nightmare. When I got this kettle I wasn’t that jazzed about it because it was none of the things I wanted. How wrong I was as this kettle is everything I do want. While I don’t have temperature control it’s hard to argue that it even matters when it’s inaccurate in the first place and although it’s not see through I do get a window so I can see the water boiling if I want to.
My first impression upon unboxing was that it is actually very nice to look at and sit on your counter. The pictures on the site don’t do the outside finish justice. Even though it’s plastic you might think it’s porcelain at first glance. The kettle unpacks and sets up easy. It also boils really fast. I raced it against another kettle and this one won so it must be fast right?
Something that I didn’t know but really like about it is that there is a blue light that illuminates the inside of the kettle as it boils. I know but it is kind of pleasing. The other thing I really love about this kettle is an understated feature of the lid button being located on the handle and not the lid itself meaning you don’t have to risk burning your hands and arms with steam if you do need to open it while it’s still hot. There are also red feet located inside the kettle to make it easier to see the lower levels if you just need to boil a small amount.
The only drawback is that cleaning it isn’t super easy because the top hole is not very large and the feet inside make it a bit tricky to maneuver around. It’s not that bad so I’m not taking any stars off of it. I’m sure you could spend $100 and maybe get a better kettle but I doubt you could spend the amount this one costs and find a better more consistent one.

I have found white flakes in the kettle after using a couple times. Emptied then reused a few times but it keeps happening! Can’t trust the safety of the water. I use filtered Brita water.

This is an awesome purchase. I was a little skeptical buying appliances at first but this purchase converted me. I like the modern look and how easy to clean it is! I use it everyday and seems to be working perfectly

I’ve had this coffee maker for a month now.
I’ve given it a solid run and I’ve been meaning to write this review for a while now. I bought it because I liked the features and look.
The coffee it makes is crap.
The cups on the carafe and water reservoir are off by 2 cups as well.
But the thing that REALLY gets me, THE PLASTIC SMELL WHILE IT BREWS and the lingering smell afterward. I have t been feeling all that great and I’m seriously wondering if that’s the cause. I’ve cleaned this machine every week in hopes it would go away but it isn’t. I’ve even tried different brands of coffee, still crap coffee!
Pissed and hopefully going to return this thing.
I give this thing 1 star based on the ease of cleaning, ease of use and appearance.

Wanted something stylist for my kitchen so without much research I bought this kettle. Big mistake. As I opened it today, I could spot scratches and dirt marks. It looks like someone returned it and didn’t even bother to clean it. Him, we’re in the middle of a pandemic?!
It only gets worse: I realize it is made of PLASTIC INSIDE. And on the box it says “it may expose you to styrene and BPA”, one is a carcinogen and the other a substance that can make you sterile or cause birth problems.
I’m shocked this item is even being sold.
