Just finished install. Had to get support to troubleshoot, my error, no power to camera.
First impression is for a low cost you can install this BU camera and monitor, AND it eorks fine. I have never used a BU camera and need to get used to using it . I am excited that i was able to install with minimal use of tools and it looks great. Wires are all tucked away and it looks like i paid someone to install.
I would not hesitate to purchase another BU camera by iStrong! Great communications with customer support and very friendly people.

I respect the phrase “you get what you pay for” and it is usually true. So in this case, I wasn’t expecting too much with this system, but I was ok with that since I just wanted to see what’s behind me when I attempt to back up my van. I wasn’t worried about bells and whistles and wireless. Everything came packaged neatly and quickly. Before installing, I laid everything out and did a pre-hookup to test the system and get my bearings. It was all pretty self explanatory and if you had issues, there is a guide as well as a YouTube video to help. It really is quite simple. The picture quality was as sharp as my factory installed system on my other vehicle, so very happy! As for ease of installation, it’s not this product’s fault, but it’s not as easy to install a wired system as it is a wireless, but I’ve read many reviews on wireless stating not great success with the signal and all. If you have any mechanical aptitude you should be fine, otherwise get a friend to help. In the end, I tried this item since it seemed like a meager investment if it didn’t work out, compared to the $200 systems out there. I would say now, maybe save some money and try this, you won’t be disappointed. And if you are, Customer Service is an email away, they have been very attentive.

Great product easy to install best thing is it gives you a clear picture day or Night ..I installed this on my pick up truck with a topper on it before I could only use the side mirrors. Now I can back up with ease . The light on the camera work fine The screen is small but resolution is fine I didn’t want a large screen in my window The price is reasonable too! Personally I’m pleased .
..I would advise getting the plastic wire shield from an auto parts store to cover the wires when you run it under your vehicle.It is split down the middle for easy for easy insertion.

This took me about 20 mins to install. The directions are pretty easy to understand for anyone who can follow simple steps and look at pictures. I have a big truck so I was worried the cabling provided wouldn’t be long enough but it just made it! Make sure you look up a video or two about how to get the cable from the outside of your car to the inside without it looking silly. Mine was a small little panel I could remove through my firewall and bring it right up beneath my steering wheel. As for the picture quality, its pretty good! Definitely able to see everything you need to. Obviously for 30 bucks you’re not gonna be paying for 4k but the guide lines on the screen and the overall resolution seems just fine to me. I would recommend wiring the camera NOT to your back up lights as it can be a chore to strip weather proofing and make sure everything is working properly. On the plug which goes into your cigarette lighters is a button that you can just turn on whenever to turn the camera on so its not ALWAYS on. I really enjoy this product, just buy it!

I could have a faulty one but the picture quality is terrible; there are distortion lines running through the screen no matter how much I play around with the wires. A real shame as this was meant to be a pleasant surprise for my wife (she has an older car/is a newer driver and always wanted a backup camera.)

The camera was a bit of a challenge to install because the instructions were somewhat unclear. The biggest problem was that the camera failed. It was about a year after purchasing it. When I received it, there was a note saying that they would send a second camera for free. I asked for it but it never arrived.

I had been thinking about installing a backup camera to aid in hitching up my camper but was put off by the high prices of the cameras I had seen. After searching many cameras, I settled on this one from Amazon based on the favorable reviews and the price point. I am impressed! Instillation was simple, the wiring straight forward, and the performance amazing for the price. I ran the wiring to terminate beside the speedometer, leaving the jacks exposed for easy connection allowing me to store the display out of the sun and easily connect it when I needed it. Wiring the power connections to the backup lights was simple and the kit provided plenty of wire for my vehicle (2008 Ford F-150). I’m going to wire a second camera to the rear of my camper to aid in backing it into tight campsites and wire it to power from another source so I can monitor traffic behind the camper while towing.

I had to convert my electric skateboard so I could ride it with my injured neck. I got this camera and monitor so I didn’t have to turn my neck back and be able to see traffic behind me. It wasn’t made for this but works pretty good. I had to convert my 36v to 12v and get a cigarette lighter so I could plug it in. It does the job I needed it to do. Love this product.
