We love this pack and play! It’s so easy to set up and take down (seconds for both). It’s a bit cumbersome for air travel since it folds up like a briefcase but it doesn’t bother us too much.

It takes longer than one second to pop up and fold, but it’s straightforward and pretty quick. It’s easier to move it room to room. It’s much lighter than a pack and play and therefore easier to carry around. The mattress is also much softer than most pack and play mattresses, but I’m not worried about my baby suffocating. I would definitely buy again.

I am really happy with this product. Baby sleeps great in it. I was worried we would have a hard time getting her in and out (we are both 5’10”) but it wasn’t as hard as I thought it would be. Super easy and fast to put together.

I would highly recommend this product for families that travel or need a spot for their little one to sleep when visiting family and friends. We had a pack n play and found it to be tedious to assemble / disassemble and the bottom was hard. The Baby Bjorn is easy to setup and easy to disassemble. The mattress is very comfortable. As a short person I find it easy to set my son inside and pick him up. The mesh sides made me confident that he would be able to breathe. This play yard is also very light and portable. It packs easily into a closet or into your car. My son sleeps all night without waking when we use this product. With other travel cribs he would wake and fuss all the time, most likely because the matressses are not as comfortable.

We used to hate travelling with our baby, he would not sleep in the pack and play we had, and would spend most of the night screaming and inevitably end up in our bed to get just a bit of rest. No one got ANY sleep. The surface of the pack and play was hard as wood, and we suspected it was uncomfortable and therefore making it difficult for our little man to sleep.

Just before Christmas we decided to change it up and get the Baby Bjorn play yard to use as a travel crib. The first night in this, he slept just as well as he did at home. He consistently sleeps well in this for naps and nights away, and we are ecstatic to have found a solution to our sleepless nights away from home.

The foam padding is soft, but still firm enough that we aren’t worried about our tummy sleeper being able to breathe properly (we know about back to sleep, and tried to tell our 4 month old that it’s not safe to sleep on his tummy, but apparently he likes to live on the edge). This is so easy to set up, we didn’t even use instructions (unlike our pack and play which took us 10 mins to set up with instructions). The materials are good quality, and we like that there isn’t any dangerous fire retardants on this product. We found the size to be perfect, enough room for our busy body to move around at night and practise crawling when he’s supposed to be sleeping, but small enough you can easily fit it most places when travelling. When in the carrying case, it is relatively small and very light weight, very easy to lug around.

The only negative we have found is that it’s a bit tricky to put him down if he fell asleep nursing, because it’s a long ways down. If this is a big problem for you the only solution is one of those travel cribs where the side zips down, but our baby is a light sleeper and the sound of the zipper would wake him up. It is also a bit pricy, but worth it to get some sleep, plus you can easily sell these used on shop and swap sites for a good amount.

Our only regret was that we didn’t buy this from the beginning.

This was the single most important travel purchase we made for our son. I know it’s pricey, but after trying several “portable” pack and play type of cribs, I promise you this is so worth it! Light, easy to carry, a breeze to set up and take down and our (huge) 14 month old son has been comfortable sleeping in it since he was 5 months old and still is. Literally the only downfall is that if you’re on the short side, it’s a long ways down to place baby in the bottom of this crib. I still can’t recommend it highly enough though as it’s a small price to pay for the convenience and safety it offers!

This might be easy to assemble and light, but our baby hated it. Not every baby will transition well from a crib to this. We went travelling and found that, compared to her crib, our eight-month-old wasn’t comfortable on the mattress and didn’t like being so close to the floor. I also found it really difficult lifting a (heavy) sleeping baby from waist level on to the floor. Using this actually caused our baby (who slept through the night from two months old) to wake up 5-10 times a night. I purchased a foldable crib instead and the problems stopped. I wish I had not purchased this.

Easy to assemble, looks nice, and our daughter loves it! We have both a black one and a dark blue one, and the colors are both nice. Travels well.

We reallly debated whether we would invest in the baby bjorn. Once it arrived we still weren’t sold on the cost vs value of the product. It’s just so ridiculously expensive and we wondered why.

It is lightweight and easy to put together. It is stylish looking for sure. And supposedly the mattress is thicker than other similar products. We do like that we can pick it up with one hand and move it around our apartment. Very lightweight.

The selling point for this product is its mattress. But don’t fool yourself into thinking it’s an amazing mattress or a life changing baby sleeping solution. The mattress is just vinyl covered foam and it’s still only an inch thick. It’s firm-ish but not firm enough for me to feel super comfortable letting my baby sleep in it given she has a tendency to face plant in her sleep. The play yard itself has a smaller footprint than a pack and play but that also means it’s small for your baby. We have a 6month old who is a tiny baby (15th percentile for her age)…and she takes up most of the play yard. Why they say it’s good for kids up to 3 years old is beyond me. It’s small. A three year old would have to curl up to sleep.

A further concern is that I worry the mesh sides could get caught or tear on anything. They do seem fairly good quality which for this amount of money I would want to know it’s indestructible!

We purchased it because we wanted something portable for travel- but while it’s light to carry and easy to assemble, it’s still huge and would need a large luggage bag that would need to be checked in an airplane. No carry on!

I’m also not convinced it’s any easier than a pack and play to assemble to be honest. We have an old pack and play as well and we bought a 50 dollar crib-style mattress for it and we feel much better with her sleeping in that and it saves a tonne of money. It’s not hard to set up either and it would similarly need to be checked on an airplane. The difference only being it’s heavier and maybe takes like a minute longer to assemble. Is that worth the extra hundreds of dollars?

That being said, the mattress we bought for the pack and play can’t be folded up for travel and we did want something more comfortable than the standard pad it comes with.

In the end we did end up keeping the baby bjorn because it’s stylish and it fit in our small apartment and the mattress can be folded up for travel and it’s light and easy to move around our space. But I can’t justify the expense at all.

There are foldable mattress for travel that likely would have been a better purchase especially since this play pen can’t even be carried on a plane so you might as well stick with the slightly heavier and bulkier pack and play anyway.

Bottom line: if you have money to burn it’s a frivolous expense and it looks nice. But if you’re looking for a place for baby to sleep and something convenient to travel, then this isn’t exactly a miracle worker. Save your cash and get a pack n play and buy a separate travel mattress that’s a bit more comfortable than the ones they come with.
