Had to send it back. The camera would not work. Tried all kinds of things. Got an I T guy to try also with no luck. I really liked the unit. Might reorder once my account is credited.

I thought this would be a huge upgrade from my much cheaper Chromebook… In some ways it is, and in others it has been a surprising downgrade!
I love the backlit keyboard! But as mentioned in another review, the characters on keyboard can be hard to see in lighter environments. Whether or not this is a hindrance will be a customer preference/need.
The screen is much larger than my last chromebook and overall has a nice clear display, however, when playing any games on it I am getting flashing stripes across the screen. I assumed this was a manufacturer issue so when I contacted Amazon they issued a replacement order right away… Well guess what, the replacement has the same issue! Yikes. Did Amazon just get a bad batch?? *PS upon further investigation this is a KNOWN issue from the last model and apparently was not yet corrected! I am legit 0/2.
The sound quality is horrible. Like really horrible. I am not trying to rock out over here, I am merely in an online classroom and the voices of the students and professor are coming through so tinny! Headphones are required or keep at 20% volume.
The magnetic closure is ridiculous! I have never felt the need the keep a crowbar on hand to open my laptop before! That might be slightly exaggerated but still, wow! What kinda industrial strength magnets did Asus use?!
Really am at a loss on whether or not to return this one as well and try a different model!
ETA bumped my star rating from 2 to 3.. still having the same issue with the laptop but it hasn’t gotten worse.. AND the accidental damage protection in the warranty has just made this purchase entirely worth it! I spilled coffee on my laptop recently, yikes! It was fried and wouldn’t turn on.. sent in for repairs and it would have cost me more than the laptop did initially to fix! But with ADP in the first year, that coffee spill was covered in the warranty! I could not have afforded another laptop right now and I need it for school, so this has saved me! Thank you Asus! Much appreciated!

Very fast laptop, no lag ever, great screen, great speakers, 11 hours battery life and excellent built quality. Do not believe what a popular youtuber say about the keyboard flexing, my unit has absolutly no flex at all, you can push as hard as you want and it’s solid like a macbook or surface laptop.
Do not waste 500$ on a windows laptop that will under perform, this chromebook is as fast as windows models twice the price. Chrome can do 99% of what we need.

Pros –
1> easy to handle, 2> esthetically excellent 3> elegant look and feel (in hand) 4> excellent, smooth, and short touch response time 5> Can be folded into a complete tablet and made an excellent e-reader 6> Web apps work great such as Youtube, Browser (Chrome), any other WebApp. 7> Great for carrying along with during vacation/journey 8> Playstore integration is great but not all apps work.
Cons –
1> Limitations of ChromeOS 2> Limitation of at least 256 GB local Hard Drive to store files locally (this one is 32 GB only and a lot of it is taken over by the OS) 3> Unless you connect the tablet to your Google Drive, you cannot save tons of stuff from the web 4> ChromeOS will be supported up to 5 years from the date of purchase and 5> Limitations are mostly of ChromeOS than the actual hardware.
Overall I am very satisfied with the product.

I bought this Chromebook for my father. He’s not use to utilized Windows PC, but he had a old Samsung tablet and a Samsung smartphone, both with Android.
So a Chromebook was a easy way to upgrade his tablet with something more powerful and with a keyboard.
The configuration was simple. You just need a Gmail address.
Because he had a Android smartphone, he had no issue using the Chromebook. Same apps, similar layout but with a keyboard and touch screen.
Only con: the Chromebook is hard to open (physically) You have no grip to flip the screen.
For older people, this can be an issue.

Great value for money. It is quite solidly built. Not cheap and flimsy feeling like others. Bright clear screen. Touch screen isn’t as sensitive as it could be but maybe that is better for a multiuse device. Battery life is awesome! With moderate use we didn’t have to charge again for 2 weeks! Keyboard is really nice and nice that is back lit. One thing I will say is that it is a little anoying that when you are typing, if your hand touches the mouse pad it often jumps your curser to a different part on the page. If you don’t notice you will be typing right in the middle of a paragraph.
Overall great little computer that I’m sure will serve our family for years to come! Glad I did my research.
