I thought these were NiMH batteries but they aren’t, so I need to charge them immediately before use. The description doesn’t say they are NiMH but I’m surprised Amazon is selling this older technology. I’ve purchased AA NiMH Amazon Basics batteries and the labels look very similar so I thought these would be the same. The description does say slow self-discharge but doesn’t specifically say NiMH.

Watch out with these and check the device regularly. These tend to leak, but if you check daily you can catch the leaking ones before serious damage occurs. Don’t just leave them in place and hope they will work when required. They may not, and your device may be ruined.

Since buying a terrific battery charger (AccuPower Intelligent Fast Charger), I have used nothing but rechargeable batteries, both AA and AAA types. Of the brands I have tried, AmazonBasics is my favourite. I must have bought over 60 by now, and they have never let me down.
Whether they get daily, intensive use (as in my Slendertone belt, LED night lights and wireless keyboards) or sit waiting patiently for the next call to action (inside a torch or photo flash unit, for example), these batteries seem to keep their charge almost intact. The fact that they arrive already charged is so convenient. Impossible to know how many times each individual battery has been recharged, but my first batch was bought more than two years ago and most of them are in continuous use. Terrific quality, fully justifying the price. Interestingly, the white ones (which are more expensive) have been less reliable, with a couple already showing as “null” in my charger, whereas I’ve not had a single failure from the black ones.

It was mentioned they will be pre-charged. Hence I expected them ready to use. However, some of them were not working. I also tried to recharge them, but no positive result.
Even they were packed in set of 6, which is also not appreciated. Individual packing would be much better.
Due to their poor quality, I was afraid to use them for expensive products. They are very cheap as compared to others, but there is significant reduction in quality.
Overall, I am not satisfied with them.

Batteries come well packaged and precharged so you can use them immediately. Personally, I let them drain completely before charging them. I use an Energizer charger and it works very well together.
Once charged to their full capacity, the batteries last super long in various devices. Toothbrush, fragrance diffuser, LED mirror, milk frother, etc. Depending on their use, the batteries last for weeks without having to be charged. I will certainly buy more for my other devices that require batteries. I am very satisfied with my purchase at half price of other popular brands!

Bought these in August 2018. Batteries are made in China (white labels). Listed capacity is 800mAh, but my Maha PowerEx reports between 825-895 mAh on each of the 12 cells (~850mAh average) That is very consistent with other made-in-China low self discharge (LSD) NiMH batteries that I’ve tested. As a hobby flashlight tester, I’ve gone through many hundred NiMH cells over the years. My findings are that the China-made cells – sold under quality brand names (like Duracell, Amazon, Sony, etc) are typically higher average capacity – but more individually variable – compared to actual Eneloops or re-badged made in Japan cells. I have not observed any differences in longevity, although none last as long as the stated number of cycles. Good value cells so far, we will see how long they last.

these are worse than dollar store batteries, they don’t hold a charge, they don’t charge properly even with an amazon charger… supposedly they have a warranty, but amazon doesn’t even respond to enquiries about it

The packaging was great on this item – very efficient and evironment friendly. I put these into my diagnostic charger which took a day to analyze them. Their capacities varied from 765 to 858 mAh with all but two being over 800. There were no duds in the lot.
I’ve put them in my remote controls and they work great. Only time will tell if they are of good quality. I’ve purchased rechargeable batteries for the last 15 years and most of them are not that good. With these new low-self-discharge types, the quality has been raised quite a bit, but you still get some that die due to varying quality from battery to battery. Even the better known brand names have bad batches. The only brand I have had no problems with are Sanyo Eneloops. Some of Sanyo’s other models are not as good as their Eneloops. But you do end up paying sometimes upwards of twice as much for them.
I’m hoping that these come from a good factory and will last at least five years with no issues. The price is certainly right compared to all other brands. I have a lot of confidence in Amazon branded merchandise because I have not been disappointed yet. I will try to update these a year or two from now (if I can remember). 😉

DO NOT PURCHASE. THESE SHOULD NOT BE ON SALE AS RHEY ARE DANGEROUS.
We were lucky that we didn’t put these on charge overnight because had we done so, pretty certain we would have been dealing with them catching fire and the consequences of that make me feel physically sick. One battery had almost split open and another had just started to begin melting.
Absolutely shocking and should not be on sale as these are dangerous.

Made in China (unlike their AA counterparts) and slightly oversized (i.e. Not true AAA size) makes it a very tight fit in some of my devices. The initial charge wasn’t very high either. I’m waiting to test their performance a bit and then update the review.
Update: After testing with a smart charger the capacity was above the rated one (rated at 800 mAh and charger says almost 900 mAh !!) so this is great. I changed my rating from 3 to 4 because of this. I still don’t give them a 5 star just because of the non-standard / slightly larger size vs. “true” AAA… I read that the AA from Amazon Basics also suffer the same problem. Weird.
