Amazon Essentials Men’s Waffle Shawl Robe

1st thing. Packaging was none existent. Delivery address label just stuck on the clear product bag. This bag was not sealed, so item may well have fallen out of the bag several times. There’s no obvious place to complain about this, so here I shall put it.

The item itself is way to big and the sizes don’t match any other manufacturer’s guides. I normally order 2xl in t-shirts, this XL-XXL nearly wraps around me twice.

If you want a housecoat for great warmth…move to another. The waffle knit does not deliver great warmth. However, I wanted a Light housecoat so it works perfectly. It is larger than I expected, so I could have gone one size down. I secured the belt in back..sewed it to coat…works much better. It does what I wanted for fall. In winter a more traditional housecoat for warmth might be appropriate.

Read the details for sizing this robe and thought it would be just right. Unfortunately, it was way to small for my spouse. Easy Amazon return & quick refund.
Spouse ordered on his own and found the right size.

I was in the market for a lighter weight robe, since the one I’ve had for a long time is just way too hot and I decided to replace it. I got my hands on a different brand of robe that appears exactly the same, and it was just not good. Too expensive, not stretchy, and sized wrong. This Amazon Essentials robe solved the problem, because it is the exact style I wanted, looks great, but is sized appropriately, is made of a softer fabric (though it looks identical to the other robe), and there is some stretch to it as well, so when you raise your arms for example, it doesn’t bind your shoulders up, but gives you room to move.
The material is fairly thin, as it should be for a light robe, but it feels well made, and the seams and stitching all seem robust. Hopefully this will be a good robe for years to come.
Good price, good quality, good material, good fit. Good deal!

This one surprised me with how premium it feels and well-made it is. Only £20 and it’s more luxurious than my partner’s robe that she bought from a health-spa for nearly 7-times the price.
It’s just so soft, it doesn’t feel like cotton/polyester blend it feels like cashmere and cotton, seriously, it’s really unbelievable how soft it is even after a few washes.

It’s also lightweight without being paper-thin so it’s light and airy enough for summer but I will use it most of the winter too as it’s warm and cosy when you wrap it around you and tie it up.

Regarding the size, I’m a big guy, 198cm and 130Kg, I don’t know what that is in 18th-century fluid ounces but it’s pretty big, maybe 6.5 to 6.7 and 20+ stones, so I would usually need a 4XL but I took a chance on this as it was so cheap. Surprisingly, the US XL-XXL fits me perfectly.
Oh, and it’s very absorbent, not as much as a thick towelling robe but this good.

⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ – My bargain of 2020. If the price increased to £60 I would still buy another, just in a darker color as my dogs will no doubt put dirty paw prints all over this. The best robe I’ve owned.

Definately fits larger than expected,nsk sE down if you’re unsure. Lightweight material, perfect as a summer robe.

Ours however has a pretty major flaw in that the pockets are not evenly placed, the right pocket is about 5 inches lower than the left so it hits my husband’s knees and is completely impractical! Unfortunately, I bought the robe awhile ago and was waiting until Father’s Day to gift it so the return window is closed now.
