Excellent! The third speed is a bit loud but I’m sure most fans are at high speeds. My home does not have air conditioning, I needed a fan ASAP to survive the heat and this is perfect! Put a frozen water bottle in front of the fan and you have a DIY mini air conditioner!

This fan is great! It has literally been going non stop in the bedroom for a week until my portable air conditioner arrives. I have had it on the fastest speed and it’s very tolerable in terms of the noise level. I would much rather put up with a hum than have a melt down during the summer heat waves! It does a great job and allows me to sleep at night! Great product that I would most definitely recommend!

The fan is quiet and can moves air pretty well in a room for circulation purposes. If a person is looking for a strong wind directed at them this is not the ideal fan. The reason for the two stars are that it came covered in a white powdery substance, most likely mold. The fan is produced by Intertek which is the same as Honeywell ht-900 and the other store brand fans. Production quality is low compared to other Intertek fans due to the substance. All else it is a great fan.

This fan was bought for white noise to help a child sleep. It doesn’t do a great job at this. The three usual settings (low, medium, high) are something like this:
* Low: Yes, the blades are rotating slowly in silent mode.
* Medium: The blades are just starting to make some noise, but not very much.
* High: A jet engine has been turned on and your entire room is filled with drafts loud noise!
PROS
* Price
* Looks fine
* Doesn’t rattle yet, after a few months of use
CONS
* Strange power settings – either makes no noise or too much, either moves almost no air or all the air you have

Fan stopped working after 4 months of occasional use.
I contacted amazon and requested a replacement, they said the return window was only 30 days, despite AmazonBasics One-Year Standard Warranty.
This went back and forth for an hour, me insisting I have a replacement, them insisting I am S.O.L. Tried to refuse customer service lead transfer.
AVOID AMAZON Basics brand.

I have the original versions form canadian tire that costed twice the amount. The original is quieter and much stronger, but even with a little extra noise ( i like white noise anyways) at the highest level is more than acceptable, and for half the price, I had to get two, and so far are performing just as well as the original.
Amazon basics does it again. Two thumbs up earned the last star for matching the price to the quality. (often times things on here are over priced for shoddy quality)
Edit: Looks like after 2 weeks of use, one of the two fans is grinding. It is causing serious stress with my mysophonia.
Going form 5 stars down to 2, as i cannot use it and don’ t know anyone that wants to buy a cheap fan second hand. Bringing the cost up 100% for the one working fan and leaving me needing to buy a replacement fan. Not buying the el cheapo basics one again
edit2: I see they won’t let me reduce the stars from 5. Criminal if you ask me. The 2nd fan also started making that grinding noise. BOTH of these are now useless. so these are disposable fans only to be used for two weeks. WAY over priced for that.

I’ve always bought the honeywell version of these fans, they are great to place around the house to move air, but the honeywell’s have a very short lifespan, in about 6 months, they will start to rattle at lower speeds, they are not built to last. so this time ill try this Amazon version. so far it’s seems quieter and more powerful than the honeywell version. if it lasts longer than 6 months i’ll be super impressed.
1 year later:
I bought 2 more, these are made much better than the honeywell versions, after a year of heavy use, this fan still operates as quietly and as efficiently as the day i bought it ( i’ve cleaned it several times of course). i tossed the old honeywells, they made so much noise, and were just very low quality.

The fan, after being ON for about 2 minutes, fills in a room with a chemical smell which I suspect is due to badly mixed plastic, resulting in the plastifier to be going into the air. After half an hour you can smell it on the whole floor. I suspect also that this must not be good for anyone’s health, so now it is on a shelf in the garage, unplugged, until I decide what to do with it (it is most probably going to garbage). I do not understand how something this bad can make it to market. I have had at least 20 different fans in my life and I never had a fan smell chemical like this. The only smells I ever had from a fan was the typical electrical burnt smell when the fan was very old, for example over 30 years old (“yes”, I’m old!).

We had this set on it’s highest setting to circulate air in our bedroom. The good news is that it was quite quiet, the bad news is that it was quite weak.
But, by far, the most disappointing aspect is that after owning this fan for 5 months, we noticed a burning smell in the bedroom. I look over and the fan blades are barely spinning. The motor is completely shot.
Very disappointed.

What a great little fan this is folks! Can’t hear it on setting 1 or 2, on 3 I hear it. Puts out decent force on 2 so I’ll leave it there due to the quiet factor and save higher speed for when the summer heat arrives.
I only bought it to force air across some wood that got wet. It is slightly bigger than I envisioned but it is very light, has a grab handle on the back with your average amount of electrical cord. Highly portable, and love that you can swivel it and the swivel locks decently enough to stay where you put it. Can even direct it straight up! Still quiet too.
I’m quite impressed, good buy here!

Poor quality motor, annoying sound due to the motor vibration when running at level 2 and level 3. But level 1 is just too weak. If you need super silent, go for Honeywell. If you need power, pick Home depot. I have all of them. Amazon is ok but surely not the best.

So I had this old Honeywell fan that I’ve been using for about the past year. It has served me well, mostly used to keep me cool while working in my little home shop. But… I wanted to grab another one to keep in my bedroom. It’s starting to heat up around here and these little fans do a lot in terms of circulating air-conditioned air.
I’ve uploaded a little video comparison between the two in terms of sound. Since I was looking to place this one in my bedroom, I was definitely looking for something a bit quieter. And let me tell you… in terms of noise, this fan does NOT disappoint! I mean it’s so awesomely quiet that I actually took the time to write an amazon review about it! AND upload a video… I basically never upload video reviews.
Check out the video to see the sound comparison. NOTE: The audio on the video really doesn’t do it justice because my phone automatically reduces the microphone volume when it hears something loud and raises the mic volume when it’s quiet. After reviewing the video myself, it definitely did that in this case because that old Honeywell fan is much louder than it appears on the video.
In terms of airflow, they’re about the same… BUT… this Amazon fan is definitely less expensive than the Honeywell and seems like it’s even better quality (even when the Honeywell was brand new, it was loud).
Anyway I’m (obviously) super happy that this inexpensive little fan turned out to be so high-quality. Totally wasn’t expecting that. Way to go, Amazon Basics. This one’s a winner!

I haven’t had an issue with a single “Amazon Basics” product, until now.
This fan SEEMED like a good buy, i had it under my desk because i work from home and my office gets quite warm, but little did i know that within a few short days it would start to slow down, inexplicably…So from here i start to troubleshoot, i left it off for a day, tried other plugs nothing helped. My office stays as warm as the devil’s beach house in Malibu.
So then i decide to just shake it off, maybe it wasn’t made to be under a desk, could be minimal airflow, so i move it to on top of my desk, blew some papers around but i will survive….I turn it on the next morning and its sluggish, and that is the nice way of putting it….Half-way through my work day i start to smell a burning electric smell, i take my break and start investigating like I’m the one true Inspector Clouseau….Come to find out the fan is emitting this awful smell, i fear the worst, could this set my desk made of rich mahogany ablaze? leaving me without a workbench, a source of income, perhaps a home? i unplug it promptly throw it into the trash where it belongs and drive down to target, Masked-up like Rey Mysterio and pick up and old reliable, LASKO. A week later and its still trucking and i couldn’t be happier, without this awful product i wouldn’t have went down to Target and bought the most expensive desk fan they had to prove a point. End result i couldn’t be more pleased! Just not in this product i bought from Amazon.
TLDR; do not buy this garbage fan, just get a LASKO
