All I want to do is to listen to books and plays. A recent stay in hospital was only bearable with an MP3 player (the drugs made reading difficult). I bought this one because it will take an AAA battery (rechargables work OK), so all I have to do is swop out the battery without waiting to charge it. The other good feature is the micro SD card slot. I can fill up some micro SD cards ready (my laptop has an SD slot).
The initial problem was that none of my computers would recognise the device. It will only be recognised if it has batttery fitted. This is not really USB compliant, since it should get its power from the USB port. I presume that this saves a wire.
The display is too small to be of any use.
The ‘manual’ is of course a very subtle joke.

One thing I detest about electronic devices is the rechargeable batteries that foisted upon the consumer these days! This product uses an “old school”, single AAA battery and it lasts for days of use. The common misconception that rechargeable batteries are “good for the environment” is bunk. Those batteries use materials that are far more hazardous than traditional batteries and we all know that rechargeable ones need regular replacing. I digress-this product isn’t the easiest to use because of the tiny LED display but for the money-it ROCKS! I love it and plan to buy another for a friend.

I bought this solely for the product’s functionality and that’s what was delivered to me. When connecting the USB MP3 Player, a new drive/device appeared as expected, which when opened had directories. For someone wanting to transfer music to the device, simply drag and drop your e.g. mp3 files to the ‘Music’ directory, and eject the device when you’re done. Song transferral was quick and easy. Also, the repeat modes and ability to expand external memory were a big selling point for me. I have tested both of these. The repeat mode is great for someone like me who likes to loop tracks. It works as you’d expect so, all good there. As for the external memory, I inserted a 64GB SD Card, no problems there either. A new directory will appear when you connect the MP3 to your PC, but the same logic follows for when you’re transferring data to the internal memory.
The only downfalls of this device, though they are by no means dealbreakers, but they were enough to prevent me from rating a 5/5 overall were the following. There seems to be input lag depending on how fast you press the buttons, which in turn impacts selection and navigation speed. However, you will never experience this if you persevere with it and leave a slight delay between pressing buttons. My other niggle, which is likely just personal to me, was the battery life. While the battery life is great in comparison to a lot of devices, I’m someone who listens to music for 8-10 hours straight while I’m in bed. So after a couple of nights, the battery was close to being dead. I’d estimate that the device lasts at least 20 hours based on the time I have used it. So while that’s great, in my case, I’ll just need a lot of batteries on hand, ha.

Nice MP3 player.
+ 8GB onboard with microSD slot for memory card expansion
+ AAA battery powered (one of the few players that takes external batteries)
+ equalizer
– no clip; having a clip would be really nice
– poor FM reception (I’m in an outlying region)
– cap fits a bit loose
The controls take a bit to get used to but once you understand the buttons’ function one can easily maneuver correctly.
The sound is great and you have an EQ function with built in EQ settings.
Why did I like a player with AAA battery needs – well if one goes camping or hiking where are you going to charge your built in battery player?
Sure you can carry a power pack, or you could just put in a fresh AAA battery and you are on your way again.
Decent player with some quirks – I think it is OK considering the lack of AAA/AA mp3 players.

It plays music just fine but this MP3 player really has become a miss for me because of the hardware. I’ve barely had this MP3 player for a month and the end and back piece are already gone. They come off so easily that, even though I’m quite careful with my electronics, I lost the end piece and back while simply taking it out of my pocket (I was walking home in the dark next to a road so finding them again is impossible now- and it’s not like I could easily replace them). The navigation system is O.K., probably as good as it could be because of the design. The buttons sometimes don’t respond properly and I’ve had a couple of rare times where a song will be skipped at random without me doing anything. It does play music just fine so I’m still using it… until my new, DIFFERENT MP3 player arrives.
I’ve used memory stick type MP3 players in the past and I should have learned from those times that this type of MP3 player loses hard in hardware. I would heavily advise only purchasing this MP3 player if you’re planning on only using it around the house.

I bought this just before I went into hospital expected to stay in a week, but ended up staying in 54 Days. If it wasn’t for this little MP3 player life would have been madding. I down loaded tons of my music from my PC onto the unit. Then some language. ( wish I down loaded audio books). I got the triple package with extra sim memory and carrying case which are all handy to clip on a jacquard chain for walking around with. Put more music on that.
Although the menu is a one finger touch up down type and can be fiddly to work once you get the hang 75% of the time it works first time.
Think the battery life depends on the batteries I used Ultra power Duracell and got about 30 hours out of them.
Didn’t really use the FM radio.
The sound quality again depends on the headphones you use. I used Samsung noise reduction in ear buds rom my Samsung phone and they were brilliant.
It has a memory that returns to the last track that was being played it has a repeat it has scramble (which doesn’t seem to work on the Sim Card?)
Overall I was very happy but I can see why people think the menu is fiddly.

I am quite pleased with this item. It is quick delivery and I love the fact it takes a battery instead of charging it. The battery lasts a long time and as well – it holds a lot of music. I did have to figure things out myself on how to operate it. Instructions were not the best. You also need to know some languages in order to switch to the language of choice. It does not arrive in English nor French and you need to figure out what setting to put it. After that no problem…..After figuring one out, I purchased another and my neighbour saw mine and wanted one also – so three altogether. I do recommend this item.

It is very difficult to find an MP3 player that uses an AAA battery. Built in lithium batteries are okay, but when they die, you have to throw the entire device away. Not very environmentally friendly nor eco minded. I was looking for something to play music on my new Thinksound On2 headphones. I bought the headphone and player specifically to block out the inane chatter of people talking on their phones while taking public transit. At the end of a long day at work, the last thing I want to hear is strangers airing their personal affairs in public.
I had no doubt this player would work with earbuds, but I was worried about it being able to power headphones with larger drivers. But I was pleasantly surprised and the volume was quite loud. Loud enough to drown out the ambient noise. For the tech savy, the On2 headphone has 40mm drivers with an impedance of 50 Ohms. I definitely do not need to buy an amp to boost the volume. I can’t comment on the battery life, but I will update this review once I’ve used it a bit more. I am definitely looking forward to tomorrow’s train ride into the office.
The controls are simple and I was able to navigate through the menu without reading the manual. I organized my songs into different folders. You can select different folders to play. I discovered this by accident by pressing the wrong button. Happy I came across this as I like to listen to different genre of music depending on my mood. Tested the FM radio and it works fine though I expect to use this device specifically to play my mp3s. There are various equalizer settings. Natural, Rock, Pop, Classic, Soft, Jazz and DBB. I just left it on Natural setting. I’m not sure if it supports playlists.
The cap covering the USB connector is not very tight and I can see it coming off easily. I had to apply a piece of electrical tape to prevent it from falling off. That’s why I only gave this device a 4 out of 5 stars. Otherwise I think this was a good purchase.
Addendum: The device had been playing music for about 10 hours. The battery status bar was showing 50%. I estimate that with a fresh alkaline battery one could get about 16 hours of music at a volume setting of 20 (half volume). Before going to bed, I stopped the device so the music wasn’t playing any longer. In the morning I picked up the unit to discover the battery was dead. Even though it wasn’t playing anything, it was still consuming electricity. Holding the center button for a few seconds will cause the device to power off. The audio quality is quite good with no noticeable static or hissing like you hear from poorly shielded electronic devices. However, this is not true of the FM radio, which has poor signal to noise.

What can I say other than it’s a fantastic little mp3 player. It’s basic, but that’s exactly what I wanted. No bells and whistles like you get with a smartphone. Another bonus for me is that it’s powered by a AAA battery, so no mains or USB connection needed to keep it playing – just buy spare batteries!
Plugged into my laptop easily, but I’ve managed to plug it onto my smartphone via adapter, so transferring files from another device to the mp3 is a doddle!
Sound quality is amazing, very sharp. I’m using it for audiobooks at the minute rather than music and it’s perfect for my needs. It’s compact.
The ability to slide in an extra memory card is a brilliant addition, so you can expand its content without running out off storage space.
I don’t know how long a single battery will last with this player but they’re cheap to buy, and I have rechargeable batteries too, so no issues really.
Some people have said the buttons are fiddly. I’ve had no problems with them, but then I’m used to these little devices.
I’m a very happy customer.

Really handy basic music player! As it is a usb key itself it is easy to plug into the computer to load the files you want to put on. As it only takes mp3, not mp4, I had to convert files to out them on the player, but that is stated in the product description. The device is very basic so all of the files are simply in one area based on type (music, movie, book), which means that listening to music it is simply one looooong playlist. However, the sound quality is quite good and it plays them in the order placed on the device so you can work with that. Equally, it works well with car music players, the usb jacking into the system and allowing the device to played from steering wheel controls which is excellent for any situations where you don’t want radio or other streaming services. Overall a very simple but useful player.
