To take a screenshot on your Mac: Capture Full Screen: Press Command (⌘) + Shift (⇧) + 3 to capture the entire screen. Capture a Portion of the Screen: Press Command (⌘) + Shift (⇧) + 4 to turn your cursor into a crosshair. Drag to select the area you want to capture. Use either keyboard shortcuts or the Preview app to take a screenshot of the whole Mac screen, of part of the screen or of a single window. The Mac has evolved over the years, but one thing that's remained constant, as far as we can remember, is how to take a screenshot on MacOS. So, whether you have the newest MacBook laptops, iMac ... To take a screenshot, press and then release these three keys together: Shift, Command, and 3. If you see a thumbnail in the corner of your screen, click it to edit the screenshot.
