The Bhagwa Jhanda (Hindi: भगवा ध्वज, "saffron flag ", or Bhagwá Dhwaja) is a saffron color flag that has been used by a number of Hindu-oriented political entities in the history of India. The inconvenience to carry a burning substance over long distances may have given rise to the symbol of a saffron flag . Triangular and often forked saffron flags are seen fluttering atop most Sikh and Hindu temples. It was created by the nationalist leaders to inspire the national movement during the late 1890s. And as for the flag , the Indian Tricolor is a modified version of the pre-1947 official flag of the Indian National Congress. Originally the flag that Bharat mata was portrayed to hold, was the INC flag .
