Prime Minister Narendra Modi inaugurated the final phase of Mumbai Metro Line-3, also called Aqua Line, during his two-day Maharashtra visit that began on Wednesday. The Aqua Line Metro route will span across Cuffe Parade to Aarey Depot, with a total of 27 stops, 26 of which will be underground stations. Phase one of the line will commence operations on October 04, linking the city’s western suburbs. The second phase, connecting central Mumbai to the Island City, is expected to follow shortly. Mumbai Metro Rail Corporation Limited (MMRC) is the nodal agency responsible for the implementation of Mumbai Metro Line–3 (MML-3) project. It has been constituted as a JV of the Govt. of India (GOI) and the Government of Maharashtra (GOM) on 50:50 sharing basis. The Colaba-Bandra-Sheeps Mumbai Metro Line 3 is also known as the Aqua Line. the Mumbai Metro Rail Corporation (MMRCL) is currently working on expanding the metro line Once completed, the 33.5 km long Mumbai Metro Line 3 will become Mumbai’s first underground metro. This subway has 26 subway stations and 1 stop at the grade station
