 Después de dos meses de prueba aproximadamente puedo decir que este purificador funciona. 💪

Soy asmático y necesitaba un producto que me ayudara a pasar mejor las noches, que es cuando se producen la mayoría de cuadros de gravedad, en parte porque los niveles de cortisona naturales bajan exponencialmente y en parte porque es donde pasamos muchas horas y nuestros “amigos” los ácaros 👽👽💀 se pegan buenos festines en nuestros colchones y almohadas. Bien, pues este aparato es un buen aliado y si no eres muy tiquismiquis con los sonidos, al mínimo (1) puedes dormir perfectamente con él encendido. Otra opción es dejarlo unas horas antes de ir a dormir, aunque es menos efectivo porque es mientras dormimos que necesitamos un aire más puro.
He hecho la comprobación científica con la alarma de la casa. Sí, con Securitas Direct hay un elemento que mide la calidad del aire, pudiendo comprobarlo con la app. Por la noche empeora muchísimo. Es decir, que por la mañana, una vez ventilada la casa, el sensor marca de 25 a 40, dando unos niveles de calidad del aire muy buenos. A medida que pasa el día, los niveles empeoran, llegando a 250-300, casi rozando una muy mala calidad del aire. Los motivos son variados, a saber, acumulación de CO2, partículas en suspensión de pinturas, muebles y otros… Mil cositas imperceptibles que solo una buena ventilación consiguen revertir. Eso o poner el purificador de aire de Levoit, que devuelve los valores de calidad del aire a muy buenos números en una hora aproximadamente, en un espacio de unos 20 M2 que es el que ocupa el sensor de la alarma. Lo que nos lleva a decir que aunque el purificador está pensado para habitaciones no muy grandes, hace su función en espacios mayores.

Otra ventaja añadida es la marca, que proporciona fácilmente los accesorios de filtraje, cuando la máquina se supone que te avisa de ello (todavía no he llegado a los 5-6 meses que se especifica que dura cada filtro).

En definitiva, un buen producto a un precio más que razonable. Mis pulmones me lo han agradecido, espero que los tuyos también lo hagan. 🏃🏃

This is a review after three months use of this air-purifier.

When it was first out of the box and set up it seemed to make an instant difference – or atleast the fresh, clean smell from the activated charcoal component of the filter certainly gives that impression on first use.

What this small unit is up against: Neighbours who chain-smoke 24/7 (As a neighbour, when you smoke in “your” home you also smoke in “mine” because smoke spreads out and diffuses into everything nearby – even through small cracks in closed and doubled-glazed windows – if you smoke please consider your poor neighbours who may actually be suffering terribly), mould and microbes from neighbours whose place leaks into mine, other nasty air pollutants, road fumes, occasional cooking, dust, ect.

The first thing to realise is that this unit can only really cover a small area – maybe a small to medium-sized room, so a home-wide air pollution problem is beyond it’s capacity. And as far as the size of each air-pollutant particle – some are simply too small for it to capture (I have previously used an ionizing air-purifier that is more effective overall as it claims to be able to capture air-pollution particles down to a smaller size through the air-ionizing part – but the amount however little, of ozone that it produced was enough to trigger airway inflammation and asthma, so unfortunately that model self-excluded itself).

PROS
It’s small and lightweight and doesn’t take up too much space – the size and shape of something like a small waste-paper basket.

It’s controls are very simple and intuitive and very responsive to simply touching your finger to the control-face.

It’s not too expensive (as long as it remains reasonably priced it’s worth it).

It’s quite quiet – but if you like absolute silence then it may distract you at full setting, on the other hand if you have noisy neighbours it may help to distract a little. I found it okay.

It seems to do something, which in a badly air-polluted home is still a help.

It has a blue night-light that has three settings: bright, dim, and off.

You can also switch off all of the function lights (if you need absolute darkness in the room), by simply pressing and holding the light-bulb button for three seconds, and then simply tap the light-bulb button to switch them back on if you want.

CONS
Although it’s not too expensive it’s still money and costs quite a lot.

The principle cost will be – as with all air purifiers – the replacement filters, and if the price climbs much then it doesn’t become worth it, so it’s price can easily make or break the deal.

The filters appear to lose their effectiveness in about a month here. I felt that at some point it wasn’t helping at all and maybe even adding to the problems due to the filter being “full” and I imagined that being saturated past a certain amount it might even harbour mould or something (but this thought would be true of all filters and makes and models that I know of), and although I ran it for about 77 days, I think that it was doing at least something worthwhile for only about a month, this could possibly be stretched to six weeks but that would really be it – after that the filter needs changing, at least I found it so *see attached photos where I compare the filter used for 77 days to a brand new one unpacked and ready to go, also note that the outer filter (not pictured) was removed and washed and dried several times over that time as dust built up on it’s surface turning it from black to grey*

Also the seal on the “old” filter seemed to shrink or something as I noticed a little gap between the outermost edge of the filter (which is ringed by some foam material to provide a snug-fit) and the inside-edge of the unit itself – I noticed it because of how snugly the new filter fit in as compared to how more easily the old filter came out – so perhaps the foam edge ringing the filters may shrink over time during use?

I sometimes noticed dust build-up all around it even when left on the top setting. However, I do not remember if this was also true before the month or six week mark.

It only covers a small area and it’s air-flow is not very powerful.

Overall this unit started out struggling valiantly but relatively soon became overwhelmed.
I have been unsure if I would purchase this again, but at this time I think that I would, but only just. Ideally I would have two or maybe even three spread out and change the filters about every month. This does quickly become an expensive prospect so there’s always that to think about as the bottom line.

Started making weird noise after less than a year. Completely useless now. Look elsewhere.
UPDATE: I was contacted by Levoit customer service based on my review, and due to the fact the machine was less than a year old and still under warranty they shipped me a replacement one. Received it less than a week later and the new machine is working wonderfully. Although I am disappointed that the original unit failed, I fully appreciate Levoit’s quick response and standing behind their product. Wish more company’s had that integrity.

This item is a life changer. I suffer with terrible cat allergies and awful sinus problems but this air purifier saved my life. My parents have a cat which is how we discovered I was allergic and nothing has ever helped when I stay there I get really really unwell. Every. Damn. Time.

We brought this on a recommendation from a friend and I was skeptical as I had tried so many different type of things to stop my constant asthma attacks, stuffy nose and constant eyes streaming, let alone sleeping. I used this the whole week I was at my parents and I slept all the way through the night, no waking up not being able to breathe, no allergic reactions and no getting sick when I arrived home.

I would definitely recommend to anyone who has any issues with allergies or asthma follow the instructions and breathe.

This air purifier is amazing! We’ve been using it for a few weeks now and I’ve noticed our toddler isn’t rubbing her nose as much as she used to. We bought this as I am having going to be having chemotherapy next month and we wanted to minimise dust etc in the house – we checked t last week and the amount of dust in the filter is crazy! I never thought it would capture so much from one room. Great product and would def recommend.

 – I live in a former smoker’s home and I suffer from asthma. This product claims to remove smoky air and I ran it 24/7 for 2 days and there was no noticeable difference to the smokey smell in the room.
– Unfortunately, this hasn’t improved my asthma and hasn’t really improved the air quality in my house
– Likewise I doubt this product can filter out mold spores either, this is simply an overpriced fan and a cheap filter

On the other hand, there are some good pros to this product
Pros:
– I like the nightlight function, but the blue color isn’t that great for a nightlight because blue light mimics sunlight which would not be ideal for a nightlight.
– Three fan speeds, fan speed #1 is barely noticeable and you could be running this while you sleep (checkout the video)

Your better off spending your money elsewhere – I’m quite dissapointed.

This works great – but if you cannot sleep with any amount of light (like myself) this isn’t the filter for you. Even with the nightlight feature turned off, it gives off a disturbing amount of light in my bedroom. I put stickers on the buttons but the light glows through the vent anyway. I got it to filter the heavy smoke from nearby wildfires, and it did help a lot for that. Now that the smoke from BC wildfires is relatively gone, I’ll be banishing this from my bedroom ASAP!
