Avoid.
This product, part melted and distorted, after using it for less than a month.
Very disappointing from OXO, who usually are pretty good.
Unable then to return as return window was closed!

I’ve had this for a couple of weeks and used it about 4 times, doing simple tasks like flipping sausage and eggs. It’s coming apart in strips – several have already come off, and you can see where more is peeling – definitely not durable or suitable for its purpose.

We had the bigger version of this for years and it finally broke. This is a great flipper and it’s small size works great for small pans. Cleans well in the dishwasher though you occasionally need to scrub the end as sometimes a little egg can stay stuck. Love it!

I’ve bought 3 of these in the last 2 years. Each time, it starts to crack and flake into the food after months of use. I wouldn’t call this heat resistant.

Good product. Plastic, not silicone.

I’ve had great success with almost all the good grips items I’ve bought for the kitchen, but this one in particular is fantastic. Not wanting a thicker silicone turner, I wanted a very thin, flexible, but wide flipper. This one fits the bill. Not soft enough to sag under food, but not so firm as to be inflexible when sliding underneath, this super thing, very wide flipper does it’s job perfectly. Easy to grip, strong metal construction (inside the nylon and rubber), it’s better than any of my other flippers by far. Being nylon, you can’t leave it in a hot pan like silicone, but it’s worth that trade off.

I used this flipper to make pancakes. After the first use, I went to wash it afterwards, and the underside of the utensil edge had melted and when I used the dish sponge to scrape it, the strip of melted plastic came off. This doesn’t seem to be very safe.

There is nothing that makes this item more worth/special than $1 nylon turner. Having a stainless steel neck does not add any value in the product’s function. The finish on the flipper was not 100% clean and had this rough edge. After about 3 usages, it is all smooth, which means the plastic melted. I am not sure if more plastic is going to melt and get messed up like my previous turners.
I originally wanted to buy a silicone turner. When I searched “silicone turner” on Amazon, this was the second one to show up. It is partially my fault for not reading the description carefully but the first thing that showed up was “OXO GG 1071536BK Silicone Flex Turner, Black” which Amazon Prime applies. I must have been confused because this one is also called “Flex Turner” for the same brand. This was an add-on item, and I thought that was what made the price difference.
* My rating is based on the product quality based on the price paid.

Have bought “Oxo” kitchen utensils in the past and always been more than happy with them. This one also meets the grade, and does what is says on the web page. Nice and light as well and although from the photo looks a little thick at the business end…it isn’t and gets under those pesky eggs with ease!

If you’re like me, a pro flipper, you need a spatula that can keep up with the rigors of daily flipping. This flips eggs, it flips pancakes. Can it flip an oversized stuffed omelette? Yes. It has a sharp edge so you can do things like breaking up ground beef and THEN FLIPPING IT. You can poke sausages with it but let’s be real that’s a job for a fork.

In all honesty we purchased this because of the price… We needed to add an additional item to get free shipping on something we were ordering. The second reason we ordered this particular one was because of the Brand name. We were very impressed with the item, we like that the handle is shorter, it gives much better control and the actual flipper portion is longer which makes turning items like french fries, fish, scrambled eggs or flipping pancakes way easier. The handle is also very comfortable, not flimsy at all. The products is easily washed. Very pleased with the purchase, ordered another one after using the first one for less then a week.

Surprised that some buyers are noticing the edges coming off from the heat, I will continue to observe. Thus far I’ve used this to cook stir fry dishes and it’s been pretty sturdy and I haven’t noticed anything rip off or tear yet (3-4x use). Comfortable to maneuver and grip compared to the old one I used before. It hasn’t scratched my non-stick pans yet but I will follow up after further use.
Edited 06.28.2021: Okay I am noticing a bit of the edge which was initially smooth become a bit gritty from usage after a few days of use. I think it’s a good flipper for eggs and gentle cooking but if you’re working with hotter dishes and are a rough cook maybe look into the silicone versions that withstand better heat. This particular one is comfortable though and doesn’t scratch my pans.
