The flip cover of this product is not good. It does not close firmly that causes the flip cover to flip up constantly.
Vendor should check this out.

The chart suggested that a size 7 was more appropriate for my scope, a Buckmaster 4×12 Nikon. However I measured it and ordered a size 8. Fits great. I am sure a size 7 could be squeezed on, but the size 8 works great. See thru is just what I wanted. No issues from me on objective size 8… The size 4 is another issue all together which I wrote a separate review on..The Size # 4 will not stay closed. The slightest touch and it flips open, certainly not effective for Hunting. On that size I would give it a rating of zero. I have since ordered and replacement for the eye piece from another Manufacturer.

I ordered online as sportsman warehouse was out of stock, they measured my scope and gave me the sizing to order. The sizing they gave me was incorrect as it was too small and did not fit the scope, during the return process through Amazon I was offered an exchange which I accepted for the next size bigger. The new cover also did not fit my scope, and I had to reach out and request another return/exchange. The company did so with ease and helped make sure that I re-ordered the correct size for a 3rd time. 🙂 Totally my error, but they were wonderful and the exchanges were simple and quick.

Works great. Just make sure you get the right size.

I do wish they had a lever on the side to crank it down tighter, but it does everything I could possibly have expected it to do. It effectively protects my optic while allowing for emergency, immediate use without restricting field of view perceptibly, at least to my eyes. There is minor ghosting when illuminated, on the front cap, but if you apply pressure to the cap you can effect its placement and so cause the ghost and the true crosshair to overlap as much as possible, minimizing the detriment to acceptable levels.
These caps will permanently be a component of my optic.

This is an absolutely amazing see-thru scope cover and totally worth buying. I purchased this item because I needed a cover for my scope on my airsoft rifle. I didn’t want to damage my scope by taking a BB to the lens so I decided to search for a see-thru scope cover that would allow me to continue using my scope but provide protection at the same time. This item met the bill perfectly, I’ve got a cover on each end of the scope and you really can’t even notice that the covers are on. They are completely see-thru, there’s no glare from the sun on the scope and they fit perfectly. I would definitely give these scope covers a five out of five and would highly recommend them. Just measure the outside diameter of the scope and match up the scope cover # to the closest value possible and it’ll fit just fine. Some of them might seem a bit tight of a fit, but trust me…if you measure correctly they’ll work great. In summary this is an amazing scope cover and totally worth the money. 5/5

I measured my scope with a micrometer and ordered the size recommended by Butler Creek. Neither cover was even close. One end too small, the other too large. I used the enclosed scale with the covers I received and measured for replacements. The covers are very cheaply made, bit if you’re lucky enough to get a good fit (good luck) they do work.

I use this to protect the lens of the Streamlight laser light on my shotgun.
It pops open when shooting heavy loads but as it was designed to protect scopes and be open when shot I may be asking a lot.
