Great monocular which works well. Comes with a case, cleaning cloth and lens cover. It’s compact and can easily fit into a backpack. It was well packaged and arrived on time. I’m satisfied I picked the type of monocular for my needs. It’s a good product for the price.

I was a little hesitant to order this product. A 10X42 Monocular for under $20..00 I had second thoughts. I did however order the product and I was very surprised of the quality and clarity of this “mini telescope.” Once you get use to adjusting your eye to the view it is very easy to use. Why do I say this, if your eye is too close or to far from the eyes piece all you see is black. With a few adjustments this issue is resolved. Instructions very basic not much info…only to moveable parts focus knob on top of the monocular and the eye piece adjustment you must adjust the two to get rid of the black view. Absolutely a great value for $20.00. I am a stargazer and just to have something small and easy to spot something quickly in the night sky has enhanced my stargazing experience. I also got it to use when I hear something at night or if my neighbor’s dog is barking (a very good dog by the way, only barks when he see’s someone) looking out the window at night your eyes can play tricks on you, “is there someone by that car or is someone moving in the shadows”, with this monocular you can easily see what is going on at night.

Product descriptions indicates that it can focus to > 1.5m object. Should be > 5m if not slightly more.

When turning the focus dial, it makes a plastic noise like a plastic wrap being twisted.

    I’m returning this item.

I replaced it with a Gosky Titan 12X50; the quality is way better and so are the optics.

Great quality. Seems strong and durable, and the image quality is crisp and clear.

I wish it came with the tripod and phone clip so it could be easily used as a telescopic lens for a cell phone camera. Perhaps the seller could offer a bundle with these items in the future.

While monoculars are not for everyone, these Occer 10X42’s are tremendously competitive against their more expensive, ‘brand’ name competitors. With superbly crisp and clear optics – stemming in part from their BAK4 prisms, rather than the more common and cheaper BAK7 competitors – quality design, materials and construction, the Occer 10X42 monocular was one of my better purchases. Optical devices, monoculars and binoculars, are not tools you use every day, but when you use them you rely upon consistent quality and convenience. With these, not only do you get the case and lanyard, but standard features include lens caps – one permanently strapped to the forward lens – and particularly notable is the ‘universal’ tripod mount, making them particularly useful in spotting on a KD range or traversing when your subject is moving. An additional ‘real’ feature is that they also can, with an optional device, be used in conjunction with a smartphone, capturing neat close-up pictures beyond the phone’s zoom capability. Too, I find these more helpful on my boat in checking who is fishing where and what they are catching on our 250 acre lake. While virtually all optical devices are only as steady as the hand holding them, I find I can easily and clearly read license plates at over 100 yards. At first a little confusing (In part because their literature hasn’t yet been refined and targeted to the US market) was the focusing procedure – besides having the top mounted rotary knob for adjusting for distance, these have ‘two’ rotary focus eyepiece rings. But, be not afraid, with a little practice they perform well and conveniently. The only drawback for me is in watching our turkey vultures, soaring beautifully like eagles, who, close-up, are truly ugly birds. Would I buy them again? You bet!

For less than $30, this is impressive. I have one bad eye which makes using binoculars a little c!umsy since I struggle to get a good image with both eyes open so I end up using my left eye only. I was looking for an alternative to my 15x70mm Celestron Cavalry binoculars for quick spotting and all around use on the water as I’m cruising the British Columbia coast. I was looking at some $$$ bushnell products and decided perhaps I should start with an inexpensive 10x power monocular to see if it would suit me better than 12x42mm binoculars so I wasn’t expecting this Occer 10x42mm to be giving me a great view considering my eyes are not the best. All I can say is wow; this feels like a much more expensive optic to start with, smooth fluid focus knob, good secondary focus ring, eye relief is decent considering I’m usually picky about it, the rotating eye cup works great and allows me to use the optic with or without my glasses. Captive front lens cover and tethered eyepiece cover, brass threaded insert, textured rubberized grip, deep knitting on focus knob and ring, non glaring finish, good front lens recess to keep fingers off the octic, etc.

Straight out of the box, walked up the dock and played around with it on a cloudy afternoon, superb image and not dim at all, looks like a proper 10x power and easily focused at any given range. Little bit later, flying 50km/h on a zodiac by myself, I was able to use it to spot logs and other boats despite the shaking and speed as well as the fog.

I was considering buying a $300 bushnell mono after this one, but I think I’ll just buy another one to keep on the upper bridge, because I don’t think I’d be able to appreciate the difference anyway, as all I need is something to do quick spotting of water debris and wildlife without the bulk of a pair of binoculars. I usually buy $$$ quality equipment, especially with optics (flir, nikon, etc) and disregard cheap stuff, but this is quite impressive and an exception to my lineup. Hopefully it won’t start to fog up, otherwise the image quality is great.

This monocular meets my needs. I have difficulty in finding binoculars that allow me to focus in both eyes and when I found this monocular and read reviews, I was willing to take the chance they would give me the freedom and comfort while birding.

The main features I wanted included: ease of focus, ease of transport, & sufficient magnification to see what I want to see. Thumbs up on all accounts.
I also purchased the adapter to fit a smartphone to simplify and reduce the number of items needed to carry “in the field”. So far so good.

These monocular suites my needs: I can see what I want to see, I’m not weighted down, and I can attach a smartphone to take a picture at 10 x 25 magnification.

I’ll update if I run into an issue.

For the price, the optics are clean, the focus easy, the monocular light weight so no shaking, the field of view good enough for hobby birding, and I can clearly see a leaf three blocks over or 15 feet away in my backyard. No, it is not as good as something that costs hundreds of dollars but I am surprised by how good it is and I will be sad if I drop it in a bog, but I will still be able to afford to replace it. Plus, it arrive quickly, with a carrying case, lanyard, 2 caps, and a cleaning cloth.

BAK4 prism, fully multi coated lenses for less than $30?
I didn’t believe it myself but now that I have it…BAM!
This is an amazing deal! Sure it smells a bit like plastic. Sure I can see a little lubricant that looks like glue that wasn’t cleaned off.
But the optics are excellent and the focal length is as long as I’d want to hand hold.

Want longer focal length, get a telescope. In fact if there’s anything that you want that this monocular doesn’t deliver go ahead and spend a couple hundred dollars and get it.
If you’re looking for a nice small unit for distance vision in a perfect little bag that would fit on your belt then look no further and don’t spend any more than you have to.
This is the best bang for my buck in my memory.
I almost forgot there are two lens caps and a tripod hole that’s brass not plastic. Seriously you’re not going to get anything in this quality at this price, I’ve tried.

I have used some very high quality Nikon 10X42 binoculars and this OCCER 10X42 Monocular has similar clarity and easy focusing. I can attest that it is a true 10X (power) magnification and not exaggerated as some other companies have advertized. I was surprised by the ability to observe with high edge to edge definition objects as close as 7 feet away! I really like the compactness and light weight to carry along when going out for a quick hike. The pouch included is just ‘ok’…but I will be seeking something a little more sturdy to attach to belt or pack because this is coming with me on every outing. The small strap included is likely intended to wrap around a wrist while holding the monocular and not as a neck strap. For the price the quality and clarity are very good to excellent for outdoor situations. Very satisfied and glad I got this item.

Smells strong of chemicals. Did not magnify 10x. I could see the same detail with naked eye as I could with the monocular.
Was miss lead by advertising and expecting tripod and cellphone adapter.
