Did not expect the product to be so sleek. Slider is smooth and does the work perfectly
UPDATE: I have been using this on my 15 inch MBP (Macbook Pro) for almost a year, and it did the job well. Until it cracked my 16inch work laptop and I removed it from all my MBPs!
I am so disappointed as it ruined my work laptop. I have been using it for few months but suddenly there appears a small crack on my screen below the webcam. I took it to an apple store and they diagnosed it to be caused by the cover. They said due to the extra material, it put uneven pressure on the screen and might have caused the crack. I instantly removed it from all mine and my husband’s MBPs. I thought it was thin enough to not cause this, but I was wrong.

What a fantastic product. It is very sleek and blends perfectly with my laptop.
The instructions were easy and straightforward. I wish these came standard on all laptops.
My laptop still closes completely and the cover does not create any gaps which was an initial concern but I thought..what the heck!

Finally this is a more permanent solution. The sticky note method is not only ugly, but they keep falling off and need to be replaced.
These come in a tiny package. I’m so pleased to see how thin they are. Installation is easy and the instructions provided is rather clear.
1. Clean the surface of the device where the camera is
2. Slide the cover to open position
3. Tape the clear tape over
4. Remove the adhesive back tape
5. Hold the clear tape and position the cover over the camera, aligning the opened slot with the camera
6. Hold down to secure
7. Remove clear tape
These are particularly useful for tablets I use in the rooms. Apps nowadays require too much permission. They ask for not only contact list but access to the camera. In case you installed questionable apps and got hacked, it’s better to cover up the camera.
They are very small and I hardly notice them. They are very thin as well and I have no issue closing the laptop.

Purchased a 6 pack for my family who have been using stickers and tape for years now, and we could not be happier! As soon as I discovered that this product exists, I knew I will never again have to deal with stickers leaving glue behind on my laptop camera and Post-its constantly falling off and disappearing, leaving me feeling unsafe again.
When I received it, I was pleasantly surprised by the super sleek design of this webcam cover, and LOVED how it blends in and looks great on any laptop or tablet. The materials look and feel high quality, and the adhesive is stronger than expected, and it was incredibly easy to install. It looks great on my new MacBook Air, on our Dell laptop, on our iPads, and even on my partner’s old beat-up MacBook Air ( NOTE: the old MacBook Air requires this webcam cover to be installed vertically to avoid covering any sensors).
All-in-all, I am SO happy that this exists and that my family and I can feel safe and protected while using our devices. And at such an affordable price, it’s a no-brainer – HIGHLY RECOMMEND!

There’s a lot to like about these but they aren’t five stars because they don’t latch or “click” in either position. The slider is free to slide. That might be great on a desktop display but it’s not reliable for something more portable. You need to check I every time you open the lid of your laptop, or move your phone.
What’s good?
The build quality appears good and the packaging was great. They are also very thin and ideal for a slim MacBook.

I highly recommend this sliding camera cover!
It’s very thin and of great build quality. It comes with very handy mounting adhesive strips that makes it very easy to center the hole over the camera with precision.
On my MacBook I mounted it diagonally so it wouldn’t cover the indicator that shows if the camera is active.
Two advice: Don’t mount it to the left of the camera if you have a Mac as it will cover the light sensor. On other makes it can probably be on the right hand side if it exists. To locate the sensor, shine a bright light on the area and you will see a little black dot next to the camera. Second advise, the instructions for how to use the mounting strip shows placing the whole strip on the cover. I didn’t find that useful as the text on the strip was in the way. It’s enough to only attach the strip to the sliding part (open).

In the early days of webcams in the late 90s a physical cover was a standard feature, one which was carried over to cameras when they started to become integrated into laptops. For some unfathomable reason however, in the early 00s manufacturers reached the conclusion that a 100% reliable and secure method of preventing a hacker taking control of your webcam wasn’t something consumers were interested it, leaving us to resort to pieces of tape or post it notes.
This is a far better and more elegant solution, I’ve fitted one to my Lenovo ThinkPad Yoga 260, it’s easy to fit and looks like it could be an integral part of the laptop rather than a bit of plastic stuck on top. The screen still closes perfectly too.

More sticky than others previously purchased and seem to have a better construction too.

The item is very small and thin, which is nice. Does not interfere with closing an iPad or 2017 Macbook Pro. One complaint: it does not “click” into position (open or closed), so it can accidentally slide open (and frequently does), so you have to keep an eye on it. Less of a problem with a desktop computer, but with a laptop or tablet that you’re moving around a lot, it can open accidentally.
A bit tricky to install on iMac and Macbooks because of the position of the light sensor and the green “on” indicator light. On iMac I installed it VERTICALLY, with “closed” position at the bottom (so gravity will not slide it open accidentally). Mounting has to be very exact or you get vignetting. On Macbook you can’t mount vertically so you have to decide which item to mask when mounting horizontally; the light sensor or the “on” light. I decided to mask the sensor because I don’t use it anyway (I don’t like the machine deciding on screen brightness for me).
Instructions took a minute to figure out. It comes with a strip of transparent tape for each item and the instructions are really unclear regarding what it’s for. I finally realized it’s for helping you position the item over your webcam. The item is so tiny that it would be hard to position without the extra tape to hold on to.
Here’s what you do: first, turn on “Photobooth” or some other app so you can see yourself on-screen through your webcam. Then put the transparent tape on the FRONT of the item with item in the OPEN position. Then remove the sticky backing tape on the item. Then position the item over your webcam without pressing it in place. Check your screen to make sure it is positioned properly before pressing down on it. Once you’re satisfied, press down and hold in place for 20-30 seconds. Then remove the transparent tape that you were using to help position it.

Excellent and Cool sliding magnetic camera cover. I am using this on my MacBook Pro and love it. It is extremely low profile. Some folks mount these the wrong way on their MacBooks by mounting them so that the slider moves left to right. It needs to be mounted VERTICALLY as there are sensors located to the left and right of the camera. The slider should move top to bottom. Works very well and is a great value for your privacy!
