I’m quite impressed with these boots. I have a very difficult foot to fit i.e. narrow arch and AA heal. These boots fit well right out of the box. They broke in easily and I have been wearing them on a daily basis ever since I received them (approximately two months) and have no complaints. The only reason I didn’t rate them with five stars is that the padding in the boots (as others have commented on) initially feels very substantial and very comfortable, but collapses quite quickly. Even so, the boot tends to conform to your feet quite easily so they collapsed padding does not create a problem. Boot could be improved by using more substantial material in the padding so that it retains its initial “feel” for an extended period of time.

While these are sold as hiking boots, I bought them as I needed a new winter Boot, and oh boy do these do the trick.

We just had our first real snowfall, so the ground is covered in soft snow and slush. After a 15 minute walk in these conditions, my socks stayed dry, and I was able to confidently trudge through snow and slush without so much as a worry about slipping and sliding.

The boots could be a tad more comfortable, but for the price you’re paying, these will keep you safe and dry in winter conditions

I love these hiking boots so far I have used them quite a bit and they fit nicely and are very comfy.
Tested in some snow and cold and passed for warmth, traction.

Update, 7 Months later the boots for no reason start to develop two holes with very minimal and normal use, contacted the seller my compensation is offered a 20% discount, could I have received a pair with a quality issue maybe but be weary, a hiking boot should not last you 7 Months and you did not even work them out hard on trails.

Now both shoes completely useless stay away.

These boots are pretty comfortable although they are very stiff when new. They seem to be softening well with use. I live in Canada and have worn them on a couple of snow and ice covered trails. They are warm almost to the point of being too warm. Will have to see how they are in summer. Water resistance is good and kept my feet dry stepping in shallow puddles and small shallow water crossing.

Had to return the first pair as I ordered same size as my regular sneakers and they were too small. Reordered 1 full size bigger and they were perfect.

Very beautiful and comfortable pair of shoes. I bought the green colour. The shoe is waterproof, hold my feet as expected, strong shoes and nice feeling as you walk. Great for hiking. No pain on your feet after a all day out. Also the customer service with Rico has been outstanding. I had an issue with a lace he fixed it immediately with a solution. I recommend these walking boots and the company.

There was a protruding bulge in the roof of the boot at the toe area. It made boots un-wearable as it would cause friction injury. Returned boots without difficulty and awaiting refund. Pity, as they looked like a really good quality boot otherwise. It was a fault that was probably particular to that pair only. It appeared to be formed by poor stitching of the waterproof membrane. Unfortunately I won’t risk getting another pair.

At first wear , the boots fit nice, but they developed a crease during the second wear around the ball of my left foot which made it a bit uncomfortable to wear. It joins a long list of shoes in my closet which I will give away for free at a moments notice. Shoes that I thought I could cheap out on. I went out the next day and spent the extra money to buy a high quality boot.

I had a pair of Merrells that these are replacing for my hiking boots and upon receipt I took them out, they of course “smell” as many have said from the manufacturing “off-gassing” that happens during transport.
Now, immediately I noted how rigid these feel and are not as flexible as the Merrells were as new and that is somewhat disconcerting given the cooler winter we are having and how these will hold up. More on that later.
Now the extra laces…well not sure about the “why” on these so again will have to see if the ones provided are useless or just an extra pair of laces.
I did spray waterproofing on the boots as I do with every pair of hikers that I own just for added as the mesh looking material didn’t give me a warm and fuzzy feel.
Fit is as expected, I wear a size 10, ordered a size 10 and viola!
They fit snug initially but are starting to loosen up a bit as the foot bet compresses so I’m hoping for a bit more room for my wool hiking socks.
Grip is good and the sole seems well made again with some shale hikes I do my Merrells lasted incredibly long so if I get 2/3 of the wear out of these in the same areas, I’ll be happy with that.
I’ll do a follow up review in a months time or 2 as that is when the rubber meets the road quite literally.

These are solid hiking boots priced in the mid to lower range. As a city dweller I am an occasional hiker so I would preface my review with that I do not intend to use these every day.

    Pros:
-Good amount of ankle support. This is important to reduce fatigue. I hiked for over 10 hours on one occasion and felt pretty good in these throughout.
-Padding (and good socks!) helped prevent blisters .
    -Good for wide feet.
    -True to size.
-Seemed waterproof when I traversed small streams but of course was not wadding in rivers!
-Have a nice look to them. Some boots in this range are very colourful. I was looking for something a bit more classic.

    Cons:
Not many so far after a month of use. I was generally impressed with them. The only thing is that I wonder how well these would last if I planned to use them everyday for long hikes. If that was the case I might look for something in an even higher price range.

I really like the appearance of these boots and they are very comfortable . The soles of these boots however are quite slippery when compared to my old hikers . I bought them for walking on hiking trails in the winter but they don’t give me the sure footedness I require . For driving or shopping where there is little snow and ice they are fine . I will be purchasing something else for hiking in winter .

I’m a postman, they are used daily and have clocked up about 500 miles in them so far. I don’t expect them to last more than 3/4 months as a result. Initially very good for the money, although they did tend to end up very sweaty. However, of late feet have been getting wet and found that the soles are leaking through very small holes that are starting in sole. . Still plenty of tread of them and comfortable to wear still despite the high mileage in a couple of months of use, Shame about the leaks in sole but otherwise for £33 , a third of the price of Merrells which last me about 3/4 months also, pretty good value

Had them 4 weeks and done about 35 miles of walking (1 walk per week) on the second walk the boots started letting water in, but from where I cannot tell! With all the wet weather lately, I have been wearing gaiters with the boots so it wasn’t getting over the top.
Maybe the sellers/manufacturers should change the description to Water Resistant?
The boots are very comfy and the sizing for me is just about right, feet feel fresh after 10 miles so no complaints there, but I would expect them to be more robust waterproof wise than 4 weeks (well, 2 weeks to be honest)
Still, for under 30 quid I didn’t expect to much from them!
Would I recommend them? for dry weather, yes, for wet weather, no!
