I don’t know if it’s because they’re new, but shoes are quite tight, more than anything else I did wear until now. I had other pairs of Merell in the past (hide shoes) and never I had any issues. I’m wearing it at work where I’m on my chair most of the time and they hurt my feet, I have to remove them after an hour or two. It’s also not my first pair of slip-on shoes, I previously had a cheap pair from another store that did last a few years, but didn’t cause me any pain at all, except when I was walking a lot during the day.

Maybe I just need to wear them a bit more before they become confortable, but it’s still a first for me.

Outside of that, they feel quite light and sturdy, but I have them for a little less than 24 hours now, so hard to really give a good opinion on the durability.

It is hard to find a shoe that is easy to get into, provides the support you need to walk on uneven surfaces, and is comfortable. This shoe checks all the boxes. They were a great decision and would not hesitate to buy them again or maybe just buy another pair to have them in reserve. A great shoe.

The only thing that might give you pause is the felt-like exterior. You wouldn’t want to wear them on wet days as I think you might ruin the outside surface of the shoe. I suppose you could spray a protector on them but I have no idea if that would harm the exterior.

But all in all a great shoe.

Bought these as general use winter shoes even though they are not nescessarily designed for the winter specifically.

    Pro’s:
    1. No need to bend to get them on – just slide your feet straight in.
    2. My toes have never been ‘frozen’ in them yet
    3. No slipping on the inside of the shoe
    4. Decent grip on ice & snow (but not the best – they make different shoes for that purpose)
    5. Not too bulky & ugly – when you get to your destination you don’t have to swap them out for indoor shoes (you can just keep wearing them)

    Con’s:
    1. You need to invest in a good shoe spray to help keep them looking good. But realistically this is not really a con. Minor maintenance and these shoes should last a very long time.

    Would absolutely buy again.

At first, I did kot like them, they were wide. I got the W as I have wider feet but they seemed a bit excessive. But after a couple weeks of use they grew on me. After working them in they are great. Now, the reason the two stars, I had got them after reading they were rated as a top kitchen shoe. Someone had stolen my previous clogs. These are definitely not non slip, so why they were rated a great kitchen shoe is beyond me. Yes, they are water proof, yes they have good support and yes they look great. But walking around at work can be dangerous and I have already taken a few wipeouts. Really wish they were better for that reason as they are otherwise a good shoe.

Update: Changed to one star after I double checked that they are definitely advertised as non slip, which they are definitely not so this is a false claim. Until this matter is resolved it will remain one star.

I’ve had a few pairs of these Merrell Jungle Moc over the years and the fit is accurate plus they’re very comfortable and well made – this is the first pair I’ve bought in the suede finish as they were significantly cheaper in a deal.

I like the slip on feature which is so much more practical than a lace up casual shoe/trainer and there are pull-on tabs on the heels. The interior of the shoe has a special anti-odour treatment which seems to last a long time plus you can change the insoles.

The outers don’t need much cleaning as there’s a rubber rim around the shoe. The heel is slightly higher than some but absorbs impact and makes the shoes great for walking in all but the roughest terrain. i have also found the shoes to be highly water resistant.

In summary, a good value pair of practical shoes which are well made and should last quite a while.

I am a past fan of these Merrell Jungle Mocs and bought this latest pair (size 8.5, brown leather) expecting them to be consistent with earlier versions – the sizing is fine and they accommodate my very wide feet well. The leather is decent quality on the uppers and they look good quality. What isn’t so good is that the soles seem to wear much more quickly than before. Also, the inner linings are not such good quality and feel rather sweaty. I think it’s more than my imagination that someone has attempted to “improve” on a winning formula and in the process the shoes are now both less durable and don’t breath as well as they used too. In summary, still comfortable, reasonably well made shoes but a notch down from their former glory.

I’m a normal width men’s 12.5 and the 13 was just a little loose with thin socks. Replaced the insole with a thick merino wool one from Superfeet and now they are perfect.

These shoes are a little clog-like. They slip on and off very easily. I could see myself losing them on the trail if I’m not careful. The rubber sole has outstanding grip and the upper suede repels water very well out of the box.

I would not recommend these for casual wear, the sole is too thick and retains far too much dirt. These are like trail clogs. I was kind of hoping they would flex a little more.

I bought these Jungle moc’s to use when I do a quick jaunt out to my shop or doing yardwork. Sort of like a heavy-duty shop slipper. A nice sturdy sole and upper, with the convenience of slip on. (I have a couple of other pairs of merrel’s for actual hiking/walking) I bought these in a large wide size for two reasons: 1/ easy slip on without even bending over. I can actually put them on like a clog, and 2/ I have stiff toe so must stick an extra (carbon) sole plate under the insole. These shoes are fantastic. In fact I would wear them around town if I had bought a more stylish brown colour but I got a bargain by buying black suede. The outer sole is quite stiff and seems likely to wear well. The insole is easily removable to be able to put my spring plate in, and they fit very comfortably.

I really liked these Merrell Men’s Jungle Moc shoes. They looked great, seemed to be of quality construction and felt good to walk around in. At least to walk around in my house. I did not get to actually put them to use because for whatever reason the fit just wasn’t right for my feet. The front half was very comfortable, perfect really, but the heel area was too loose and so my heel would lift out excessively. I’ve had several other slip-on style shoes without this happening. So with great disappointment, I have returned them to Amazon. But other than this, they seemed great, so assuming you don’t have the same issue with fit, I would still highly recommend these.

I bought these from Amazon as a second pair after finding a pair I’d bought from a local store fitted very comfortably. Happily I found this new pair provided an even better fit, it that was possible. For the shape and size of my feet, these shoes provide very close support without feeling tight or constraining. My feet breathe well in them, too, despite the close fit.

I have sprayed both pairs with protectant and the nubuck has stood up exceptionally well. In fact, I had to go deep into a muddy harbour shoreline recently to rescue a niece, with my shoes getting completely covered in a foul goop. I just hosed them off, washed them with a detergent solution, and finished with a quick brush with a soft nail brush after they dried, They ended up as good as new – surviving a true torture test!

Something I found with both of my pairs is that they felt a little tight to put on initially, with the “slip-on” category seeming more of a “shoehorn-on” – but the elastic vents on each side of the top tongue soon loosened just enough to make putting them on & taking off quite easy.

I don’t wear dress shoes, or even just “smart” shoes. I’ve never liked them, find them uncomfortable and like a suit or even a tie I see little point to them other than to conform to an outdated standard. I’m an office worker, but as an Engineer I get out and about a lot and when I’m not in safety boots I’m wandering across mucky car parks so dress shoes are out of place anyway. What I do wear though are boots like these, or my old favourite Dude Farty loafers.

As a fell walker I’m a big fan of Merrell and Solomon walking boots, and generally live in my Merrell Moab Ventilator boots. These Jungle Mocs have the same fitting and comfy feel as those Moabs, but bridge the gap from outdoor boot to smarter day shoe. They’re rugged underneath, but stylish on the top, and I can pair them with my usual Craghopper Kiwi Classics or my work chino type trousers so I don’t look like I’ve just rolled off of Snowdon. Which I usually just have.

Update: I’ve had the brown coloured ones now for coming up to a year, and have just brought a pair in black also, such is my regard for how comfy and practical they are.

This is the second pair I bought.
Exactly the “same” style – but it’s not.
The same size is looser and has lower cut around the ankle.
The insole is now shaped as high on the outside of the foot as it is on the arch.
Has the average anatomy of a human foot changed since I last bought a pair?
Do other people now have arches on the outside of their feet as well as the inside?
I bought a new pair because the previous shoe was five star but worn out.
This is advertised as the same model but that’s nonsense.
This shoe is now the worst fitting pair I own (out of over 100 pairs – and that includes 6 other pairs of Merrell).
I can’t give less than 1 star but these don’t deserve even that.
Merrell… your shoes used to comfortable and reliable but you’ve lost a customer.

I’ve tried lots of merrell shoes before, these have a strange outside ‘fall’ … no balance on the little toe edge. Meaning if you walk with that slant then it will be easy to go over on your ankle. I’m very worried about this.
I’ve only just received the shoes so will try them properly but I’m not so confident about them.

They are very slippy on a wet pavement/road/carpark they slip and slide easily. I wear these at work on hard floors which do get wet so I’m deeming them pretty useless for me. they are ok for comfort. Not sure if I will be able to return them now as I’ve worn them twice.
